High-Performance 4x4 Wi-Fi 6 for Dense Environments
The HPE Aruba Networking AP-535 (RW) is a dual-radio 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) campus access point with four spatial streams on both radios. HPE rates it at up to 2.4 Gbps on 5 GHz (4SS HE80 or 2SS HE160) and 1,147 Mbps on 2.4 GHz (4SS HE40), for a combined peak data rate of up to 2.97 Gbps.
It supports up to 1,024 associated client devices per radio and up to 16 BSSIDs per radio.
Two 5 Gbps Smart Rate Ethernet Ports
Both E0 and E1 are HPE Smart Rate RJ-45 ports that auto-negotiate 100/1000/2500/5000BASE-T, giving multi-gigabit uplink capacity over existing copper cabling.
IoT and USB Ready
An integrated Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy and Zigbee (802.15.4) radio supports IoT and location use cases, and a USB 2.0 host port can source up to 1A / 5W.

HPE lists the AP-535 as able to run stand-alone (Instant) or with a gateway or controller for greater scalability, security and manageability, managed from HPE Aruba Networking Central in the cloud or on-premises.

What It Is Suited To
High-density venues — auditoriums, lecture halls, open-plan offices, hospitals and airports — where a 4x4 Wi-Fi 6 AP with redundant multi-gigabit uplinks is justified. Pair it with an HPE Aruba Networking CX or Instant On PoE switch that can deliver the PoE class listed in the specifications.
Management Options
Managed through HPE Aruba Networking Central (cloud or on-premises), or with an HPE Aruba Networking gateway/controller. Confirm the minimum AOS 8 / AOS 10 software release with us before deployment. Ask us about Central licensing for your deployment.
PoE Switch Requirement
Use an 802.3bt (class 5) port, or two 802.3at ports, for unrestricted operation. A single 802.3at port runs the AP with USB and the second Ethernet port disabled (IPM off). 802.3af is not sufficient.

What PoE does it need?
802.3bt (class 5) or two 802.3at ports for unrestricted operation. On one 802.3at port (IPM disabled) the USB and second Ethernet port are disabled. 802.3af is not enough.
How many uplink ports does it have?
Two HPE Smart Rate ports, each auto-negotiating up to 5 Gbps.
Is it Wi-Fi 6E?
No. The AP-535 is Wi-Fi 6 (2.4 and 5 GHz). For 6 GHz, see the AP-615 or AP-635.
