50 ppm ADF and an A4 Flatbed in One Scanner
The Ricoh fi-8250U is the USB-connected entry model of the fi-8000 flatbed range. Its 100-sheet ADF scans at 50 pages per minute simplex and 100 images per minute duplex (A4, 200/300 dpi), while the built-in A4 flatbed takes books, bound files and fragile originals that should not go through a feeder. Ricoh rates it for an expected daily volume of 8,000 sheets.
PFU Clear Image Capture
The ADF uses two CIS sensors with RGB LED light sources to capture both sides in one pass, and the flatbed uses a colour CCD sensor with a white LED, all at 600 dpi optical resolution. A flatbed scan takes 1.7 seconds at 200/300 dpi. Operating power is 21 W or less (Eco mode 17 W).
Handles Mixed Batches, Cards and Booklets
The ADF accepts paper from 20 to 465 g/m², plastic cards up to 1.4 mm and long pages up to 6,096 mm; in Manual Feed Mode it takes booklets less than 7 mm thick. Ultrasonic overlap detection and length detection catch double feeds, and image monitoring helps protect originals from damage.
Simple USB 3.2 Connection
The fi-8250U connects to a single PC over USB 3.2 Gen1x1 (USB 2.0 / 1.1 compatible). If you need to share the scanner on the network, the fi-8250 is the same scanner with a built-in Gigabit Ethernet port. PaperStream IP (TWAIN/ISIS), WIA and Linux (SANE) drivers are supported, and PaperStream Capture and PaperStream ClickScan are supplied.
