The Ergotron MX Desk Monitor Arm is the heavy-duty member of Ergotron's desk-arm range, engineered to move a display of 14 to 30 lbs (6.3 to 13.6 kg) and up to 30″ with fingertip pressure. That rating covers heavy professional panels, colour-critical production monitors and all-in-one computers that lighter arms simply cannot hold. Note that the 14 lb (6.3 kg) figure is a genuine minimum, not a formality — the counter-balanced lift needs the load to hold position, so light monitors belong on a different arm.
Constant Force Motion, No Tension Knobs
Patented Constant Force™ lift-and-pivot technology carries the weight for you: 5″ (13 cm) of lift, 80° of tilt (75° up, 5° down), a full 360° of pan and 90° of rotation between portrait and landscape, all moved with one hand and held exactly where you leave it. The display extends and retracts through 17″ (42 cm), so you can pull a heavy screen forward for detailed work and push it back when you need the desk.
Clamp or Grommet — Both Included
The box contains both mounting options. The desk clamp fits surfaces up to 2.6″ (66 mm) thick; the grommet mount passes through holes 0.31–2″ (8–51 mm) wide on desks up to 3″ (80 mm) thick. Between them they cover almost every desk in the Singapore market, from thin laminate benching to thick solid-timber executive tops, so you are not buying a separate mounting kit after the fact.

Compatibility & Fit
The Ergotron MX Desk Monitor Arm is rated for one display up to 30″ weighing 14 to 30 lbs (6.3 to 13.6 kg). The 14 lb (6.3 kg) minimum is as important as the maximum. The MX uses Constant Force™ lift, which is counter-balanced against the load: a display lighter than 6.3 kg will not hold position properly on it. If your monitor is under 6.3 kg, specify a lighter-duty arm such as the LX Desk Mount Monitor Arm or the NX Monitor Arm instead — SourceIT would rather steer you to the right arm than process a return.
Deep monitors: Ergotron notes that a monitor depth greater than 4″ (10.2 cm) may diminish the arm's capacity. Chunky all-in-one chassis and older heavy-housing panels should be checked with us first.
VESA fit: Ergotron states the MX Desk Arm fits most VESA-compliant monitors and HDTV displays; the install guide supplies brackets covering the common desktop and small-display patterns. How heavy a monitor does the MX Desk Arm take — and is there a minimum?
Ergotron rates it 14 to 30 lbs (6.3 to 13.6 kg), and yes, the minimum is real. The Constant Force™ lift is counter-balanced against the load, so a display under 6.3 kg will not hold its height on this arm. Light monitors belong on the LX Desk Mount Monitor Arm or NX Monitor Arm instead.
What size screen does it support?
Up to 30″. Ergotron also notes that a monitor deeper than 4″ (10.2 cm) may reduce the arm's effective capacity, so deep all-in-one chassis should be checked before ordering.
Can I mount two monitors on it?
No — the MX Desk Arm is a single-display arm and Ergotron does not offer a dual version of it. For two screens, look at the MXV Desk Dual Monitor Arm (45-496-026) or the HX Dual Monitor Desk Arm (45-476-224).

Is it suitable for sit-stand working?
Only partly. The MX gives 5″ (13 cm) of lift, which is a seated adjustment range rather than a sit-stand one. Use it on top of a height-adjustable desk, or specify one of Ergotron's dedicated LX sit-stand desk arms if you need the screen to travel from seated to standing height on a fixed desk.
