Online Double-Conversion UPS Built for Long Runtimes
The Eaton 9SX3000INB is a 3000 VA / 2700 W online double-conversion tower UPS supplied without internal batteries. It is intended for installations that need long backup times: runtime comes entirely from Eaton 9SX external battery modules (EBMs), up to 4 packs per Eaton's specification, so you size the battery bank to the runtime you need rather than accepting a fixed internal pack.
For Singapore server rooms, telco cabinets and plant control panels that must ride through longer outages, this is the 9SX variant to build around. Note that it cannot provide any backup until at least one EBM is connected; EBMs are ordered separately.
0.9 Power Factor and High Efficiency
With a 0.9 output power factor, the 9SX3000INB delivers 2700 W of real power from its 3000 VA rating, more usable capacity than many UPSs of the same VA class. Eaton rates it at 92.4% efficiency at maximum load and 97.4% in eco-mode. Input power factor is above 0.99, and the input window is 200–276 V (140–276 V with derating), so routine voltage dips are absorbed without draining the battery.
Hot-Swappable Batteries and Expandable Runtime
EBMs are hot swappable and automatically recognised by the UPS. Battery management includes ABM or temperature-compensated charging (user selectable), automatic battery testing and deep-discharge protection. An internal bypass keeps the load powered if the UPS itself needs attention.
Graphical LCD, Monitoring Ports and a Card Slot
A multilingual graphical LCD shows status and measurements at a glance. Eaton lists 1 x USB, 1 x serial RS232, mini-terminal block for remote power off, mini-terminal block for output relay, plus one slot for an optional communication card for network monitoring. Eaton Intelligent Power Protector and Eaton Intelligent Power Manager handle orderly shutdown of servers and virtual machines.

What It Is Suited To
Servers, network cabinets, NAS, lab and control equipment that need a continuously regenerated sine-wave supply. The watt rating (2700 W) is the limit: total the continuous watts of everything you connect and leave headroom. Because this model has no internal batteries, it must be paired with Eaton 9SX EBMs.
Operating Systems and Software
USB and RS232 ports connect the UPS to a host for monitoring and shutdown. Eaton Intelligent Power Protector and Intelligent Power Manager handle orderly shutdown; the communication slot takes an optional Eaton network card for monitoring over the LAN.
Outlets
8 x IEC C13 + 1 x IEC C19 with an IEC C20 input. The C19 outlet suits higher-draw equipment such as larger servers or PDUs. Eaton lists a 1.8 m input cord for this model; confirm the plug type against your wall socket or rack PDU with us before ordering. IEC outlets are not BS 1363 (Type G) sockets — equipment with Type G plugs needs IEC leads or an IEC-input power strip.

What does online double-conversion mean?
The UPS converts incoming AC to DC and back to AC continuously, so the load always runs from the inverter. There is no transfer gap when the mains fails and the output stays regulated to ±2%.
How do I size it — VA or watts?
Use watts. This model is rated 2700 W (0.9 power factor). Total the continuous watts of your equipment and leave headroom for growth.
Will it work without batteries?
It will not provide backup until an Eaton 9SX EBM is connected. Eaton specifies up to 4 battery packs; runtime depends on how many you add. Ask us for EBM pricing and a runtime estimate.
Can I monitor it over the network?
Yes, with an optional Eaton network card in the communication slot (not included). USB and RS232 are built in.
