APC Replacement Battery Cartridge #155
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
APC Replacement Battery Cartridge #155 (APCRBC155) - 2 Years Local Warranty
A 48 V Smart-UPS On-Line Cartridge — Not a Back-UPS Part
The APCRBC155 is APC's factory replacement battery tray for the Smart-UPS On-Line SRT 1 kVA and 1.5 kVA range, and for the SRT48BP and SRT48RMBP extended-runtime battery packs that go with them. Schneider Electric's installation guide for this cartridge names those units directly. This needs saying because the part is very widely mis-described: it is a 15.29 kg, 48 V, four-block double-conversion cartridge, not the small 12 V Back-UPS tray that reseller catalogues, and the copy previously on this page, tend to show.
48 V Across Four Blocks
Schneider's specification for the host SRT1000XLA states a nominal battery voltage of 48 V with one cartridge per unit, and the cartridge's own 15.29 kg mass is consistent with four 9 Ah blocks in series rather than one. Where a reseller listing shows this part as "12V 9Ah", that is the rating of a single block inside the tray. The distinction matters in practice: an engineer who has this part logged as a small 12 V tray will arrive with the wrong assumptions about weight, handling and what the UPS actually needs.
Continuous Protection for a Singapore Rack
Singapore runs a 230 V / 50 Hz supply that is among the most reliable in the region, but the PUB grid still sees voltage dips during the monsoon storm season, and year-round humidity of 80% and above is hard on sealed lead-acid chemistry. A UPS battery in a Singapore comms cabinet or server room commonly reaches the end of its useful life sooner than the same battery would in a temperate climate, which is why a scheduled cartridge replacement matters more here than the calendar alone suggests.
Smart-UPS On-Line units are chosen when the load cannot tolerate even a transfer notch — storage controllers, laboratory and medical instruments, network cores, anything with an unforgiving power supply. The inverter runs continuously and the battery is always the last line, which is why an on-line UPS with an aged cartridge is a more serious exposure than a line-interactive one with the same problem.
A Substantial Tray — Plan the Handling
At 15.29 kg net and 570 mm deep this is a two-hand item and an awkward one at rack height. Schneider's own figures for it are not entirely consistent, so read the note in the Compatibility section before you book freight. Supplied on a GST invoice with local Singapore warranty.

Compatibility & Runtime
Confirmed fitment, from Schneider Electric's own installation guide for this cartridge.
- SRT1000XLA, SRT1000RMXLA, SRT1000RMXLA-NC
- SRT1500XLA, SRT1500RMXLA, SRT1500RMXLA-NC
- SRT48BP and SRT48RMBP — the 48 V extended-runtime battery packs for the SRT 1 kVA and 1.5 kVA range. Both are in the SourceIT catalogue.
If you run the 230 V SRT 1 kVA or 1.5 kVA units. The models named in Schneider's APCRBC155 installation guide carry the -A suffix, which is the 120 V North American build. The 230 V SRT1000XLI, SRT1500XLI, SRT1000RMXLI and SRT1500RMXLI that we sell in Singapore are not named in that document, so we do not claim the pairing. The 48 V battery packs are named without a regional suffix and both are stocked here. If your UPS is a 230 V build, send us the model and serial and we will confirm the cartridge in writing before you order.
A weight discrepancy worth knowing about. Schneider's product data sheet gives a net weight of 15.29 kg, while Schneider's own installation guide for the same cartridge states that each battery module weighs 11 kg. Two official documents, a 4 kg difference. Neither figure changes the electrical description of the cartridge, and either way this is a two-hand item — but if you need a certified weight for freight or for a lifting assessment, ask us rather than relying on either number.
A correction to what this page used to say. This listing previously described the APCRBC155 as a 12 V 7.2 Ah, 2.6 kg cartridge for Back-UPS and Smart-UPS models. Every one of those figures was wrong: it is 48 V, 9 Ah and 15.29 kg, and it is a Smart-UPS On-Line part.
Can I change it myself? The APCRBC155 ships fully assembled with its connectors fitted, so the physical exchange is a slide-out, slide-in operation and no tools are needed. Schneider Electric does not publish a statement for this part about whether it may be changed while the equipment is energised, so we do not make that claim. The installation guide packed in the box is the authority on whether the unit must be shut down first — read it before you start, and if you would rather not do it yourself we can arrange for it to be done.

A word on weight. APC replacement battery cartridges range from about 2.5 kg for a single-block Back-UPS part to over 30 kg for a large Smart-UPS On-Line tray. The net weight in the specification table above is the figure to use when you plan handling, lift assistance and courier booking. A great many published weights for these parts, in reseller catalogues and in APC's own syndicated feed data, are badly out and usually far too low. Treat a weight you find elsewhere with suspicion, and if you need a certified figure for freight or for a lifting assessment, ask us.

Why there are no direct PDF links here. Schneider Electric's public download host redirects between domains and has repeatedly returned a different cartridge's document than the one requested. Rather than publish a link that may hand you the wrong specification, we link the Schneider landing pages above, which are stable and always resolve to the correct document. If you need the PDF itself for a tender, a service contract or an audit file, email sales@sourceit.com.sg and we will send the current revision for your exact part number.
Frequently Asked Questions — APCRBC155
Is the APCRBC155 a 12 V cartridge?
No. It is 48 V across four battery blocks. Where a listing shows "12V 9Ah" that is the rating of one block inside the tray. Schneider's specification for the host SRT1000XLA states a 48 V nominal battery voltage with one cartridge per unit, and the cartridge's 15.29 kg mass rules out a single block. The old copy on this page said 12 V, 7.2 Ah and 2.6 kg; all three figures were wrong.
Does it fit a Back-UPS?
No. This is a Smart-UPS On-Line cartridge for the SRT 1 kVA and 1.5 kVA range and their 48 V battery packs. If you have a Back-UPS or Back-UPS Pro, tell us the model number and we will point you at the right part — the Back-UPS cartridges are a completely different, much smaller family.
How do I know this is the right cartridge for my UPS?
Match the part number, not the shape. Several APC cartridges share an identical tray and identical external dimensions while carrying different cells, different voltages and different retention hardware, so measuring the old one tells you very little. Open the UPS battery compartment and read the label on the cartridge you are removing, or check your UPS model's documentation for the APC replacement battery part number it names. If the part number on your old cartridge reads APCRBC155, this is the one. If you are unsure, send us your UPS model and serial number and we will confirm it in writing before you order.
I have a 230 V SRT1000XLI or SRT1500XLI. Is this the cartridge?
Schneider's installation guide for this part names the 120 V -A builds, not the 230 V -I builds we sell here, so we are not going to claim the pairing from published documents alone. The 48 V SRT48BP and SRT48RMBP battery packs are named without a regional qualifier. Send us your model and serial number and we will get it confirmed before you order.
How much does it actually weigh?
Schneider's product data sheet says 15.29 kg net and 17.55 kg shipping. Schneider's installation guide for the same part says each battery module weighs 11 kg. We have published the data sheet figure and flagged the discrepancy rather than pick one silently. Either way it is a two-hand lift and a 570 mm deep tray — plan accordingly, especially if the unit is racked at height.
How long will the new cartridge last?
APC does not publish a service-life figure for every cartridge, and where it does the figure is a range rather than a promise, because sealed lead-acid life is driven by ambient temperature and by how often the battery is actually discharged. As a working rule for Singapore, a cartridge in an air-conditioned server room will outlast one in a warm riser or an unconditioned comms cabinet, and every sustained rise in operating temperature shortens the life meaningfully. Plan a replacement cycle rather than waiting for the UPS to report a failed battery during an outage.
What do I do with the old cartridge?
Sealed lead-acid batteries must not go into general waste in Singapore. The cartridge is recyclable through the licensed waste-handling channels, and the box your replacement arrives in is designed to take the exhausted unit back out. Tell us when you order and we can arrange collection of the old cartridge with the delivery of the new one.
Does it come with a Singapore warranty and a GST invoice?
Yes. Every APCRBC155 cartridge sold by SourceIT comes with local Singapore warranty and a GST invoice; APC backs the APCRBC155 with a 2-year manufacturer warranty.
