The APC SRVL48RMBP2U is the 48 V, 2400 Wh lithium-ion external battery pack used by the Easy UPS On-Line Li-Ion SRVL extended-runtime models at 1, 2 and 3 kVA — SRVL1KRILRK, SRVL2KRILRK and SRVL3KRILRK. One pack ships inside each of those kits; this listing is the same pack sold on its own, either to add runtime to an existing SRVL installation or as a replacement when the original pack reaches the end of its service life. Why Lithium-Ion
Schneider Electric prints an 8 to 10 year battery life for the SRVL lithium-ion pack and describes it as minimising the need to replace the battery during the UPS lifetime. Compared with the VRLA packs of the lead-acid Easy UPS On-Line SRV range, that is two to three times the service life from a lighter, shallower unit that recharges in hours rather than most of a day — the 2 and 3 kVA SRVL modules recharge the pack in 4.8 hours and the 1 kVA module in 8.5 hours. In a Singapore comms room that sits above 30 °C, the longer life is the practical saving.
Adding Runtime
Schneider Electric's product page for the SRVL kits states that up to two additional SRVL48RMBP2U packs can be added to a 1, 2 or 3 kVA SRVL UPS. The pack communicates with the power module over an RJ45 battery-management link, so the UPS knows how much energy is behind it and reports runtime accordingly. 2U Rackmount — Rail Kit Sold Separately
The pack occupies 2U. Unlike the SRVL kits, which include two SRVRK1 rail kits, a pack bought on its own does not include rails: Schneider Electric lists the SRVRK1 rail kit as a separate item, so add one per pack for a standard 19-inch rack. At 616 mm deep the pack needs a server-depth cabinet rather than a shallow comms cabinet.

Which UPS Does It Fit?
The SRVL48RMBP2U is the pack for the 1, 2 and 3 kVA lithium-ion Easy UPS On-Line SRVL extended-runtime models — SRVL1KRILRK, SRVL2KRILRK and SRVL3KRILRK, whose power modules are the SRVLPM1KRIL, SRVLPM2KRIL and SRVLPM3KRIL. It is not the pack for the 6 kVA SRVL6KRILRK, which uses the 3U, 4800 Wh SRVL48RMBP3U, and it is not interchangeable with the SRV36RLBP-9A and SRV72RLBP-9A VRLA packs of the lead-acid SRV1KRILRK-E, SRV2KRILRK-E and SRV3KRILRK-E kits.
How Many Packs?
Additional SRVL48RMBP2U packs can be added — Schneider's product page states up to two; confirm with us for your runtime target. As a guide, Schneider Electric's brochure prints runtime on the single pack inside each kit as 260 / 135 minutes (half / full load) for the 1 kVA, 136 / 60 minutes for the 2 kVA and 85 / 40 minutes for the 3 kVA.
