HP Poly Focus 625 Review: Is This the New King of Business Headsets?

The HP Poly Focus 625 is not a new king that makes every other business headset obsolete, but it is one of the most complete premium Bluetooth headsets you can buy in 2026. It pairs a hideaway boom microphone with HP's Acoustic Fence 2.0, hybrid ANC, up to 25 hours of talk time with ANC on, a replaceable battery and a foldable option, for S$329.23 at SourceIT (S$349.00 for the Fold, S$397.67 with charging stand), prices as listed on 25 Oct 2026. Its strongest case is for hybrid workers who want a boom microphone but not a bulky headset. This review is based on HP's published specifications and our experience supplying Poly headsets; it is not a lab test.

Figures from HP's product specifications and Focus 6 Series datasheet. HP notes some certifications may be pending at launch.

Design: does it look and feel premium?

HP describes the Focus 625 as designed to look as good on camera as it sounds. The boom tucks away into the earcup when you are listening, then swings down for calls, so you get boom-mic pickup without a permanent stalk across your face. At 208 g it sits in the middle of the premium on-ear class; HP adds soft cushions and a pressure-relief gap in the headband for long days. The Focus 625 Fold folds flat for a laptop bag, and the ear cushions and battery can be replaced, which is unusual in this class and good news for fleets you keep for several years.

Acoustic Fence 2.0: what does it do for your callers?

Acoustic Fence is Poly's technique for treating sound from outside a zone around your mouth as noise. HP says version 2.0 builds on earlier implementations to further reduce nearby distracting sounds, with enhanced noise reduction. Four of the six microphones handle your voice; the other two feed the ANC. Combined with a physical boom close to your mouth, that is a strong design for open-plan offices, and HP lists Microsoft Teams Open Office certification, the stricter microphone test for noisy shared spaces.

The Focus 625's best idea is simple: a real boom microphone when you need it, hidden when you don't.

ANC and listening

The Focus 625 uses hybrid ANC, with a dedicated button to switch to Transparency mode when you need to hear a colleague. HP does not publish a dB figure for its ANC, so the honest comparison with rivals is by ear. SoundGuard Digital provides acoustic protection against sudden loud sounds, which matters for staff on calls all day.

Battery life: a real step forward for Poly

HP rates the Focus 625 at up to 25 hours of talk time with ANC and the online indicator on, and 30 hours with both off. That headline is with ANC on, which is how most people actually use it. For comparison, HP rates the older Voyager Focus 2 at 16 hours with ANC and indicator on. A 10-minute wired charge gives up to 4 hours of talk, and a full wired charge takes about an hour. The headset also supports wireless charging on HP's Focus charge stand, which is bundled with the C56XXAA version.

Teams compatibility and connectivity

The Focus 625 has a dedicated Microsoft Teams button, and HP lists Teams, Teams Open Office, Teams native Bluetooth, Zoom and Google Meet certifications. The BT700 USB-C adapter in the box gives your laptop a dedicated, pre-paired link, with a USB-C to A adapter for older machines. It connects to two devices at once, remembers up to ten, and HP rates the range at up to 50 m. Smart sensors handle on-head detection. Settings and firmware run through HP's Poly Studio app. Why the adapter matters more than most buyers think is explained in Why Your Expensive Bluetooth Headset Sounds Terrible on Teams.

What are the downsides?

  • Weight. 208 g is heavier than the 175 g Voyager Focus 2 and Jabra's 143 g Evolve3 65 Flex.
  • Three part numbers. Standard, Fold and charging-stand versions are easy to mix up. Our guide Focus 625 Fold vs Standard vs Charging Stand explains which to buy.
  • New product. It launched in mid-2026, so long-term reliability data is limited, and HP notes some certifications may still be pending.

Is it the new king of business headsets?

It is a serious contender for the premium on-ear seat. Against the boomless Jabra Evolve3 75 (S$360.00), it offers a physical boom and longer rated talk time; see HP Poly Focus 625 vs Jabra Evolve3 75. Against its own predecessor, the battery and design gains are clear; see Focus 625 vs Voyager Focus 2. Travellers should read The Best Foldable Business Headsets in 2026.
