PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link VIGI 8 Channel Network Video Recorder (VIGI NVR1008H) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The VIGI NVR1008H records eight IP camera channels at up to 8MP over your existing network. It has no PoE ports, so cameras are powered by a separate PoE switch or their own adapters — which is exactly what you want when the cameras are already cabled to a switch and only the recording and viewing layer is missing.
Eight Channels Without a Built-In PoE Switch
A single RJ-45 10/100 Mbps self-adaptive port connects the recorder to the LAN and all eight cameras reach it over that network. For a site that already runs an Omada or other PoE switch, this separates the two jobs cleanly: the switch powers and aggregates the cameras, the NVR records them. It also means camera placement is not limited by the length of a run back to the recorder.
8MP Input and H.265+ on a 10 TB Drive
Incoming bandwidth is 80 Mbps and outgoing is 60 Mbps. Recording covers 8MP through 5MP, 4MP, 3MP, 1080p, UXGA, 720p, VGA and the CIF family in H.265+, H.265, H.264+ or H.264. One SATA bay takes a drive up to 10 TB. H.265+ is the reason a single drive stretches: it cuts bitrate sharply against H.264 at the same picture quality, so an eight-camera site can still hold a useful retention window.
Eight-Channel Playback and 4K Output
HDMI outputs up to 3840x2160 at 30 Hz and VGA up to 1920x1080 at 60 Hz, running simultaneously. Multi-view display covers 1, 4, 6 and 8 channels. Synchronous playback covers all eight, with decoding published as 2-ch at 8MP, 4-ch at 4MP or 8-ch at 2MP at 25 fps, and 4-ch at 3MP or 2-ch at 5MP at 30 fps. Playback includes instant, regular, tag and event modes with frame stepping, digital zoom, clip export and recording lock.
Smart Detection With Human and Vehicle Classification
General alarms cover motion detection, video tampering, line crossing, intrusion, region entering and exiting, object abandoned and removal, vehicle detection and human detection. Anomaly alarms cover video loss, offline and IP conflict, disk exception and login exception. Any of them can trigger recording, a white-light alarm, the buzzer, a log entry or an audible alarm.
ONVIF, VIGI App and VIGI Security Manager
Management runs from the local GUI, a browser (Chrome 57+, Firefox 52+, Edge 91+), the VIGI app on Android and iOS, or VIGI Security Manager on the desktop. Interoperability is ONVIF and CGI. TP-Link states that the recorder works best with VIGI cameras but is compatible with other brands, and that some features may operate sub-optimally on mixed sites.
Ideal For
Singapore offices, schools, warehouses and retail chains that already run PoE switching and want to add eight channels of recording, plus installers replacing an ageing recorder without re-cabling. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Published Footnotes
TP-Link publishes the following caveats for this model: the number of simultaneously playable channels may be fewer than eight, or none, if the total resolution exceeds 16MP; the HDD is not included and a drive must be installed for operation; storage calculations are based on laboratory testing using a 3MP VIGI camera; and the recorder works best with VIGI cameras but is compatible with other brands. TP-Link lists hardware versions V1, V2 and V2.2 for this model and its current datasheet covers V2.30 — ask us which revision is in stock before ordering against a fixed specification.

Frequently Asked Questions — VIGI NVR1008H
Does this recorder power the cameras?
No. The NVR1008H has no PoE ports. Cameras need a PoE switch, PoE injectors or their own adapters, and connect to the recorder across the network. If you want the switch built in, look at the NVR1008H-8P or NVR1008H-8MP instead.
Does it come with a hard disk?
No. One SATA drive up to 10 TB is required and must be installed before recording will start. We can supply a surveillance-rated drive with the unit.
Can it record 8MP cameras?
Yes — record resolutions go up to 8MP. Bear in mind TP-Link's own note that playback may fall back to fewer channels, or none, once the total resolution on screen exceeds 16MP.
Is there a licence or subscription?
No. There is no per-channel or per-camera licence fee for the recorder, the VIGI app or VIGI Security Manager.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty, with a GST invoice on every order.
