PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link VIGI 4MP Outdoor Full-Color Dual-Lens Varifocal Pan Tilt Network Camera (VIGI C540V) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The VIGI C540V pairs two lenses in one IP66 outdoor pan-and-tilt housing to give 3x mixed zoom across a 4 to 12 mm range, so one camera can hold a wide view of a forecourt and still pull in enough detail at the far end. It records 2560x1440, runs on 802.3at PoE, and carries on-camera classification of people and vehicles.
Dual Lenses and 3x Mixed Zoom
TP-Link publishes a focal length of 4 to 12 mm with 3x mixed zoom at F1.6 on an M12 x 0.5 mount, and a field of view of 84 degrees horizontal, 46 degrees vertical and 100 degrees diagonal. DORI distances are published for two focal settings: at 4 mm, detect 80 m, observe 33 m, recognise 16 m and identify 8 m; at 8 mm, detect 150 m, observe 63 m, recognise 30 m and identify 15 m. Zooming is mixed rather than fully optical, so the two lenses hand over across the range.
4MP Recording With H.265+ Encoding
Maximum resolution is 2560x1440, with the main stream also offering 2304x1296, 2048x1280, 1920x1080 and 1280x720 at up to 25 fps on 50 Hz or 30 fps on 60 Hz. Main-stream encoding is H.265+, H.265, H.264+ or H.264 at 256 Kbps to 4 Mbps; the sub-stream runs H.265 or H.264 at 64 to 512 Kbps. TP-Link notes that if image rotation is set to 90 or 270 degrees the frame rate is capped at 20 fps. The sensor is a 1/3 inch progressive scan CMOS rated at 52 dB SNR or better.
Smart Detection With Human and Vehicle Classification
Smart events cover human and vehicle classification, area intrusion, line crossing, people detection, vehicle detection, region entering and exiting, object abandoned and object removal. Basic events cover motion detection, video tampering and illegal-login exception. Linkages are microSD recording, push message, audible warning and white light flashing. Because classification runs on the camera, the alerts work whether or not a VIGI recorder is present.
Full-Colour Night Vision to 30 Metres
One 850 nm IR LED and three white LEDs each reach 30 m, controlled automatically, on a schedule, always on or always off. Minimum illumination is 0.005 lux, or 0 lux with the IR or white light active. Image processing includes BLC, 3D DNR, HLC, SmartIR and DWDR, with up to four privacy masks and one region of interest.
802.3at PoE in a Compact IP66 Housing
One RJ-45 10/100 Mbps self-adaptive port carries 802.3at class 4 PoE, or the camera can run from 12 V DC through a 5.5 mm coaxial plug. Maximum draw is 14 W, with TP-Link publishing typical figures of 2.9 W in day mode, 5.7 W at night on IR and 6.1 W at night on the white LEDs. At 139 x 136 x 107 mm and 0.43 kg it is the smallest and lightest camera in the C540 family, and the head pans 0 to 332 degrees and tilts 0 to 120 degrees with 300 presets.
Ideal For
Singapore forecourts, loading yards, car parks and estate entrances where one camera has to cover both a near approach and a far boundary, and sites standardising on 802.3at PoE so no outlet is needed at the pole. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Published Notes and Contradictions
TP-Link publishes the focal range as 4 to 12 mm but gives DORI distances only at 4 mm and 8 mm, with no figures at the 12 mm end. Both halves are reproduced above as published; no 12 mm figure has been estimated.
TP-Link publishes these caveats for this model: zoom-speed figures are based on laboratory testing and actual zooming speed will vary with client limitations and environmental factors; H.265+ savings are calculated from laboratory testing using a 3MP VIGI camera, with actual performance varying by the amount of activity recorded, the resolution and other variables; and product pictures are for reference only.

Frequently Asked Questions — VIGI C540V
What does dual-lens actually give me?
Two lenses share the work across a 4 to 12 mm range with 3x mixed zoom, so one camera holds a wide view and can still resolve detail further out. TP-Link publishes identification at 8 m on the 4 mm setting and 15 m on the 8 mm setting.
Is the zoom optical?
TP-Link describes it as mixed zoom rather than purely optical, which is why the two lenses are fitted. No separate optical zoom ratio is published.
What PoE does it need?
802.3at class 4, drawing up to 14 W. An older 802.3af-only port is not specified for this model. It can also run from a 12 V DC adapter, which is not included in the box.
Can this camera be used outdoors?
Yes. TP-Link publishes an IP66 weatherproof rating and an operating range of -30 to 60 degrees C, so it is suited to Singapore's rain and heat in an exposed position.
Does it need a VIGI recorder?
No. It records to a microSD card of up to 256 GB on its own and is viewed through the VIGI app. A VIGI NVR is worth adding when you want continuous recording, longer retention and playback across several cameras at once.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Three years local Singapore warranty, with a GST invoice on every order.
