PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link VIGI 4MP Outdoor Full-Color Wi-Fi Bullet Network Camera (VIGI C340-W) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The VIGI C340-W records 2560 x 1440 and keeps colour after dark using two white LEDs alongside two 850 nm IR LEDs, both reaching 30 m. It joins a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network on 802.11b/g/n instead of needing a cable run, the bullet housing is IP66 waterproof with cable attachments supplied, and a microSD card of up to 512 GB records on board.
802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi on 2.4 GHz
TP-Link publishes the standards plainly for this model: IEEE 802.11b/g/n on the 2.4 GHz band, with rates of 11 Mbps on 802.11b, 54 Mbps on 802.11g and 150/300 Mbps on 802.11n. Channels are 1-13 on the UN region and 1-11 on US hardware, with 20 MHz or 40 MHz bandwidth and Auto published as N/A. Two 2.4 GHz welded dipole omni-directional antennas of 2.0 dBi gain are fitted, transmit power is listed as High, security is WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK and wireless mode is AP and AP Client. There is no 5 GHz radio.
The Ethernet Port Is There, PoE Is Not Published
The specification lists one RJ45 10/100M self-adaptive Ethernet port, so you can run this camera wired rather than wireless if the cable path exists. PoE, however, is not published for the C340-W: no PoE standard, class or wattage appears anywhere in the interface or power rows, and the only published power input is 9-12 V DC at 0.85-1.0 A through a 5.5 mm coaxial plug, with a power adapter supplied. Plan a mains outlet at each camera position rather than assuming a PoE switch will power it.
4MP Imaging and Full-Colour Night Vision
Maximum resolution is 2560 x 1440 on a 1/3 inch progressive scan CMOS sensor, with 2304x1296, 2048x1280, 1920x1080 and 1280x720 also offered. Frame rates reach 25 fps on 50 Hz and 30 fps on 60 Hz, although TP-Link notes that image rotation of 90 or 270 degrees caps the rate at 20 fps. Main-stream encoding is H.265+, H.265, H.264+ or H.264 at 256 Kbps to 3 Mbps. Two white LEDs give full colour to 30 m and two 850 nm IR LEDs cover the same distance in monochrome, from 0.005 Lux minimum illumination or 0 Lux with either illuminator running.
Smart Detection, Audio and FTP Capture Upload
Smart events cover human and vehicle classification, intrusion detection, line-crossing, region entering and exiting, object abandoned and removal, scene change detection, abnormal sound detection, people detection, vehicle detection and loitering detection. Basic events cover motion detection, video tampering and exception for illegal login. Alarm linkages are memory card video recording, message push, audible warning, white light flashing and upload capture to FTP. A built-in microphone records within a 5 m radius and a built-in speaker supports two-way audio with environment noise filtering. Wide dynamic range is published as DWDR, not as a dB figure.
IP66 Bullet Housing for Singapore Weather
The plastic housing measures 78.5 x 188.0 x 161.89 mm, weighs 0.38 kg net, and is IP66 waterproof, with waterproof cable attachments included in the box. The published operating range is -30 to 60 C at 95 percent humidity or less, non-condensing. The fixed 4 mm F1.6 lens on an M12 mount gives 76.3 degrees horizontal, 40.6 degrees vertical and 90.2 degrees diagonal field of view, with DORI distances of detect 80 m, observe 33 m, recognise 16 m and identify 8 m. Manual adjustment is 360 degrees of pan and rotation with 0 to 90 degrees of tilt.
Ideal For
Singapore terrace and semi-detached frontages, side gates, car porches, warehouse yards and shop rear entrances where the mounting point is exposed to rain but pulling network cable is impractical — provided a 2.4 GHz access point reaches it and a mains outlet is within cable length. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Published Footnotes
TP-Link publishes the following notes for this model: "Calculations based on laboratory testing using a 3MP VIGI camera, and actual performance may vary according to amount of activity recorded, resolution and other variables."; "Micro SD card is not included in the package."; and, against the main and sub-stream rows, "If image rotation is 90 or 270 degrees, frame rate supports up to 20fps only."
Rows TP-Link does not publish for the C340-W, and which are therefore not claimed here: PoE support of any class or wattage; a dB wide dynamic range figure (only DWDR is given); alarm input or output terminals (published as N/A); and VIGI VMS as a supported client. The imperial conversion of the dimensions is reproduced exactly as TP-Link prints it, including its 161.89 mm to 3.67 in figure, which does not convert correctly — we have not corrected TP-Link's arithmetic.

Frequently Asked Questions — VIGI C340-W
Can I power it over Ethernet?
Not on TP-Link's published specification. The C340-W has an RJ45 10/100M Ethernet port for a wired data connection, but no PoE standard, class or wattage is published for it, and the only stated power input is 9-12 V DC through the included adapter. Budget a mains outlet at each camera position.
Is it suitable for exposed outdoor mounting in Singapore?
Yes. The housing is IP66 waterproof, waterproof cable attachments are in the box and the published operating range is -30 to 60 C at up to 95 percent non-condensing humidity. Site the DC power connection somewhere sheltered.
Which Wi-Fi does it use?
IEEE 802.11b/g/n on 2.4 GHz only, with published rates of 11 Mbps, 54 Mbps and 150/300 Mbps respectively, 20 or 40 MHz bandwidth and WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK security. There is no 5 GHz radio, so keep a 2.4 GHz SSID broadcasting where the camera is mounted.
Can it run without a recorder?
Yes. A microSD card of up to 512 GB records on the camera and the VIGI app gives live view and playback. The card is not supplied.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Three years local Singapore warranty, with a GST invoice on every order.
