PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link VIGI 4MP Outdoor Full-Color 4G Pan Tilt Network Camera (VIGI C540-4G) - 2 Years Local Warranty
The VIGI C540-4G is an IP66 outdoor pan-and-tilt camera with a built-in LTE Cat 4 modem and a nano-SIM slot, so a site with no broadband and no structured cabling can still be watched. It records 2560x1440, sweeps 348 degrees of pan and 120 degrees of tilt, and holds up to 512 GB of footage on a microSD card when the mobile link is down.
Built-In 4G LTE on a Nano-SIM
The modem is LTE Cat 4, supporting LTE-FDD, LTE-TDD and WCDMA at up to 150 Mbps down and 50 Mbps up, on LTE-FDD bands 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20 and 28, LTE-TDD bands 38, 40 and 41, and WCDMA bands 1, 5 and 8. Two dipole omni-directional antennas cover 690 to 960 MHz and 1710 to 2690 MHz. The SIM format is nano-SIM, and the SIM is not included; check the bands above against your Singapore operator's plan before ordering.
4MP Recording With H.265+ Encoding
Maximum resolution is 2560x1440, with the main stream also offering 2304x1296, 2048x1280, 1920x1080 and 1280x720 at up to 25 fps on 50 Hz or 30 fps on 60 Hz. Main-stream encoding is H.265+, H.265, H.264+ or H.264 at 256 Kbps to 3 Mbps; the sub-stream runs H.265 or H.264 at 64 to 512 Kbps in 736x416, 640x480, 640x360, 352x288 or 320x240. TP-Link notes that if image rotation is set to 90 or 270 degrees the frame rate is capped at 20 fps. Keeping the main stream near the lower end of its bit-rate range matters on a metered mobile plan.
Smart Detection With On-Camera Classification
Smart events cover intrusion, line crossing, region entering, region exiting, object abandoned, object removal, abnormal sound detection, people detection and vehicle detection. Basic events cover motion detection with human and vehicle classification for more accurate alerts, video tampering and illegal-login exception. Linkages are microSD recording, push message, audible warning and white light flashing, so a remote site can raise an alarm on its own without a recorder on the network.
Full-Colour Night Vision to 30 Metres
Two 850 nm IR LEDs and two white LEDs both reach 30 m, controlled automatically, on a schedule, always on or always off. Minimum illumination is 0.005 lux, or 0 lux with the IR or white light active. The fixed 4 mm F1.6 lens gives an 80 degree horizontal, 43 degree vertical and 94 degree diagonal field of view, with DORI distances published as detect 80 m, observe 33 m, recognise 16 m and identify 8 m. The head pans 0 to 348 degrees and tilts 0 to 120 degrees at 8 to 44 degrees per second, with 300 presets and eight patrol routes.
Mains Powered, IP66 Housing, 512 GB On Board
The camera runs from a 12 V DC 1 A supply through a 5.5 mm coaxial plug and the adapter is included. The microSD slot takes a card up to 512 GB, the largest in the C540 family, which is what makes standalone operation practical at a site with no recorder. A 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port is fitted for commissioning or for use on a fixed line. The housing is plastic, rated IP66 and specified for -30 to 60 degrees C.
Ideal For
Singapore construction sites, temporary compounds, remote yards, car parks and plant rooms with power but no broadband, and any position where a fixed line would take weeks to provision. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.
TP-Link publishes no Wi-Fi or wireless LAN specification of any kind for this model: it connects over 4G LTE or the wired Ethernet port, not Wi-Fi. For a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi camera in the same family choose the VIGI C540-W.

Published Footnotes
TP-Link publishes the following caveats for this model: to maintain IP66 protection the camera must be installed perpendicular to the ground; the microSD card and nano-SIM card are not included in the package; and H.265+ storage-saving figures are calculated from laboratory testing using VIGI cameras, with actual performance varying by the amount of activity recorded, the resolution and other variables.

Frequently Asked Questions — VIGI C540-4G
Does it have Wi-Fi?
No. TP-Link publishes no wireless LAN specification for the C540-4G. It connects over 4G LTE using a nano-SIM, or over the wired 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port. The VIGI C540-W is the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi model in the same family.
Which SIM does it take, and is one included?
A nano-SIM, and it is not included. Check the published bands against your plan: LTE-FDD 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20 and 28; LTE-TDD 38, 40 and 41; WCDMA 1, 5 and 8.
How much data will it use?
That depends on how you configure it. The main stream runs 256 Kbps to 3 Mbps and the sub-stream 64 to 512 Kbps, so continuous streaming to a recorder is heavy on a metered plan. Recording to the on-board microSD card, which takes up to 512 GB, and pulling clips only on an alert is the usual approach on mobile.
Does it support PoE?
No. TP-Link publishes no PoE row for this model; it runs from the 12 V DC 1 A adapter supplied in the box, so the mounting point needs a power outlet.
Can this camera be used outdoors?
Yes. TP-Link publishes an IP66 weatherproof rating and an operating range of -30 to 60 degrees C, and specifies that the camera must be mounted perpendicular to the ground for that rating to hold.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Two years local Singapore warranty, the tier TP-Link publishes for its outdoor camera series, with a GST invoice on every order.
