TP-Link UE306 USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Network Adapter
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet Network Adapter (UE306) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The UE306 adds a Gigabit Ethernet port to any machine with a USB 3.0 Type-A socket. It is a 20-gram foldable adapter built on the ASIX AX88179 chipset, and TP-Link lists the Nintendo Switch alongside Windows and Linux in its supported systems, which makes it the usual pick where a console or a laptop needs a wired link.
Full Gigabit Over USB 3.0
The output is one 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 Ethernet port. USB 3.0 has far more bandwidth than a Gigabit link needs, so the Ethernet port rather than the bus sets the ceiling, and the adapter behaves like a built-in network interface. That is the difference from a USB 2.0 adapter, which cannot carry a full Gigabit link no matter what the port is rated at.
Built on the ASIX AX88179
TP-Link publishes the chipset, which is the detail that decides whether an adapter works without fuss. The AX88179 is long-established and widely carried in operating-system driver sets. TP-Link lists support for the Nintendo Switch, Windows 10, 8.1, 8 and 7, and Linux, and notes that Windows 7 and 8 need a driver downloaded from the TP-Link website.
Foldable, 20 Grams, Made to Travel
The adapter measures 71 x 26 x 16.2 mm and weighs 20 g, with a foldable connector so it packs flat in a laptop bag. It draws power from the host USB port, so there is no adapter to carry and nothing to plug into a wall. TP-Link publishes an operating range of 0 C to 40 C and certification to CE, FCC and RoHS.
A Wired Fallback That Costs Almost Nothing
Wired links still matter: provisioning VLANs, meeting-room floor boxes, large file transfers that would otherwise fight for airtime, and any network that does not carry Wi-Fi at all. Keeping a few adapters in the IT cupboard is the cheapest way to make sure a visiting contractor, a hot-desking staff member or a console in a demo room can get on the wire.
Ideal For
Singapore offices with laptops and desktops that need a reliable wired fallback, IT teams supporting hot-desking and onboarding, engineers commissioning network hardware on site, and Nintendo Switch users who want a stable wired connection. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and volume pricing on request.

TP-Link's Singapore specification for this model does not list macOS in its supported systems, so macOS support is not claimed here - ask us before ordering if a Mac is the target machine, or consider the UE300C. No LED, cable-length or EAN row is published for this model either, so none is claimed.
Compatibility & Software Support
The UE306 is a passive network adapter with no configuration interface of its own. The host operating system owns the network connection, and the adapter appears as an ordinary Ethernet interface once recognised.

Frequently Asked Questions — UE306
Will the UE306 work with a Mac?
TP-Link's published supported-systems row for this model lists the Nintendo Switch, Windows and Linux, and does not name macOS, so we do not claim Mac support here. If the target machine is a Mac, the UE300C lists macOS explicitly - ask us and we will confirm before you order.
What is the difference between the UE306 and the UE300C?
Both give a Gigabit Ethernet port. The UE306 plugs into USB 3.0 Type-A and uses the AX88179 chipset; the UE300C plugs into USB Type-C and uses the RTL8153. Choose by the port on your machine.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Three years local Singapore warranty. Every UE306 sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Can SourceIT supply these in volume?
Yes. These are usually bought by the box for a laptop refresh or an office fit-out. Send us the quantity and we will quote, with local warranty and support.
