TP-Link Tapo D210 Video Doorbell Camera, 2K 3MP with Doorbell Chime
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link Tapo Video Doorbell Camera (D210) - 1 Year Local Warranty
The Tapo D210 is a battery video doorbell that records 2K 3MP at 2304 x 1296 with a 160 degree diagonal view, so a parcel on the floor stays in frame. It runs on a built-in rechargeable battery for up to 180 days, connects straight to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi with no hub, records to its own microSD card, and ships with a Tapo Doorbell Chime in the box.
2K 3MP Video Across a 160 Degree View
Maximum resolution is 2K 3MP, 2304 x 1296 pixels, at 15 fps with H.264 compression and 10x digital zoom. The 1.18 mm F1.8 lens on a 1/3 inch progressive scan CMOS sensor covers 160 degrees diagonally, 135 degrees horizontally and 109 degrees vertically, which is enough to take in a visitor's face and whatever has been left at their feet. WDR and 3DNR clean up a bright corridor against a dark doorway and cut grain in low light, and live view is available in the Tapo app at any time.
Full-Colour Night Vision With Built-in Spotlights
An 850 nm infrared LED covers 25 ft (7.6 m) for monochrome vision, and built-in spotlights give full-colour night vision over the same doorway. That matters at an HDB or condominium entrance where the corridor light switches off late at night: a colour frame tells you the shirt was red and the bag was blue, where infrared only gives you a grey shape. Two-way audio with noise cancellation lets you answer through the app rather than opening the door.
Battery Power, No Wiring, No Hub
The D210 runs from a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery that TP-Link rates at up to 180 days per charge, and it can be topped up continuously by the optional Tapo A201 solar panel, sold separately. There is no mains wiring and no existing chime transformer to work around, so it suits rented flats and doors with no doorbell circuit. It mounts with 3M adhesive or screws, and the supplied wedge angles it down a corridor.
Dual PIR Sensing and Person Detection
A dual PIR motion sensor with a 150 degree horizontal field of view, paired with an ambient light sensor, wakes the camera. The published AI detection specification for this model is Person Detection, and activity zones let you exclude a walkway or a neighbour's door so the lift lobby traffic does not fill your phone. Notifications arrive as a system alert, or as a system alert with a snapshot on a Tapo Care subscription. On-device machine learning keeps the classification local to the doorbell.
Storage on the Camera or in Tapo Care
The D210 has a microSD card slot on the camera itself and takes cards up to 512 GB, so it records without a hub, a recorder or a subscription. TP-Link does not list a microSD card in the package contents, so budget for one. Tapo Care cloud storage is available as a paid subscription and is what unlocks snapshot-in-notification alerts. Traffic is protected with 128-bit AES encryption over SSL/TLS on a WPA/WPA2-PSK network.
Ideal For
HDB flats, condominium units, landed front gates and rented homes that want a 2K doorbell with a chime included and no wiring, no hub and no compulsory subscription. Also a sensible pick where a parcel left on the floor needs to stay in frame. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Published Footnotes
TP-Link publishes the following caveat against the battery figure for this model: "The time of use includes recording and watching live views. Actual battery life may vary due to device settings, usage, router specifications, and environmental factors."
TP-Link does not publish the following for the D210, so none is quoted here: battery capacity in mAh, whether the battery is removable, net weight, siren or alarm volume in dB, audio compression codec, or a Singapore-specific chime dimension. The chime dimension list covers US/JP, EU, UK, KR and AU versions only. TP-Link also does not publish Tapo hub support for this model.
Compatibility & Software Support
| Tapo App | Required for setup and daily use — iOS 12.0 or higher, Android 4.4 or higher |
| Tapo Hub | Not required. The D210 joins your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi directly and records to its own microSD slot. TP-Link does not publish Tapo H200 or H500 hub support for this model, so we do not claim it — if you want a hub-and-siren kit, look at the Tapo D230S1 instead |
| Voice Control | Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa (published as "Smart Integration") |
| Wi-Fi | 2.4 GHz only, IEEE 802.11b/g/n. No 5 GHz band is published |
| Local Storage | microSD card up to 512 GB in the camera. No card is listed in the package contents |
| Cloud Storage | Tapo Care, paid subscription. Snapshot-in-notification alerts are a Tapo Care feature |
| Solar Charging | Tapo A201 solar panel, sold separately |
| Chime | A Tapo Doorbell Chime is in the box — no existing doorbell wiring or transformer is needed |
| Sub-1G Radio | Not published for the D210. The Tapo D230S1 publishes a Sub-1G 868 MHz link to its hub; the D210 does not, and we do not claim it |

Frequently Asked Questions — Tapo D210
Do I need a Tapo hub or a subscription?
No to both. The D210 connects straight to your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and records to a microSD card in the camera, up to 512 GB. TP-Link publishes no hub support for this model. Tapo Care is optional and is what adds cloud clips and snapshot-in-notification alerts.
How is this different from the Tapo D230S1?
Resolution and what ships with it. The D210 is 2K 3MP at 2304 x 1296 and comes with a Tapo Doorbell Chime. The D230S1 is 2K 5MP at 2560 x 1920 and comes with a Tapo H200 hub, which also acts as the chime and holds the microSD card. The D210 is IP65; the D230S1 is IP64.
How long does the battery actually last?
TP-Link rates the built-in battery at up to 180 days and notes that the figure includes recording and watching live views, and that real life varies with device settings, usage, router specifications and environment. A busy corridor will draw it down faster. The optional Tapo A201 solar panel keeps it topped up.
Will it survive a Singapore afternoon storm?
It is rated IP65 for dust and water jets, with a published operating range of -20 to 45 C. That covers an open HDB corridor, a covered porch or a gate post. Direct all-day sun on an unshaded west-facing wall is still worth avoiding.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
One year local Singapore warranty, with a GST invoice on every order. TP-Link Singapore's replacement warranty policy limits all internal batteries and battery packs to six months, so the doorbell's built-in battery is covered for six months.
