TP-Link Tapo TC82 KIT SolarCam Smart Wire-Free Security Camera and Solar Panel (Tapo C410 + Tapo A201)
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link Tapo SolarCam Smart Wire-Free Security Camera and Solar Panel (Tapo TC82 KIT) - 2 Years Local Warranty
A solar camera kit in one box: one Tapo C410 camera and one Tapo A201 solar panel, with the bracket, extension wire and fixings for both. The camera records 2K 3MP at 2304 x 1296 across a 125 degree diagonal view, holds full-colour night vision with twin spotlights, and runs up to 180 days on a charge with the panel keeping it topped up from a sunny wall.
What TC82 KIT Actually Contains
TC82 KIT is TP-Link's retail name for its solar-powered wire-free camera kit; TP-Link's own setup video, published on the kit's support page, is titled for the Tapo C410 KIT, C402 KIT and TC82 KIT together. The camera inside is the Tapo C410 and the panel is the Tapo A201, and TP-Link's package content row for that kit reads: Tapo C410 Camera x 1, Tapo A201 Solar Panel x 1, Tapo A201 Solar Panel Bracket x 1, USB Adapter Cable x 1, Base Cover x 1, Extension Wire x 1, plus screws, anchors, seals, caps, a cable tie, mounting templates and the quick start guide.
2K Detail Across a 125-Degree View
Maximum resolution is 2K 3MP, 2304 x 1296 pixels, encoded in H.264 at 15 fps. The 3.17 mm F1.65 lens covers 125 degrees diagonally, 111 degrees horizontally and 56 degrees vertically — enough for a driveway, a gate or the width of a shopfront. A 1/2.8 inch progressive-scan CMOS starlight sensor does the low-light work, with 3D DNR and WDR cleaning up noise and the glare of a bright doorway against a dark interior.
Full-Colour Night Vision and a 94 dB Siren
An 850 nm infrared LED gives monochrome vision to 30 ft, 9.1 m. Two spotlights give full-colour night vision instead, so you get a shirt colour and a face rather than a grey shape. They double as a deterrent alongside a siren TP-Link rates at 94 dB, measured at a 4 inch, 10 cm distance. Two-way audio with noise cancellation runs through the built-in microphone and speaker, so you can tell a delivery rider where to leave a parcel.
Person Detection and Activity Zones
A single motion sensor with a 110 degree horizontal field of view, paired with an ambient light sensor, drives motion detection and person detection. Activity Zones let you mask the pavement or a neighbour's driveway so the phone stops buzzing at traffic. Note the gap plainly: TP-Link publishes pet and vehicle detection for its C425 series but only motion and person detection for this camera, so neither is claimed here. Storage is a microSD card up to 512 GB, or Tapo Care cloud.
Solar Charging, 180 Days, IP65
The Tapo A201 panel charges at up to 5.2 V and 2.5 W through a Type-C port, and TP-Link states one panel connects to one camera only. Published battery life is up to 180 days per charge at 250 seconds of use per day, with 45 minutes of daily direct sunlight quoted as enough for all-day monitoring. Camera and panel are both rated IP65. The camera is D60 x 89 mm, the panel 173.42 x 120.42 x 15.7 mm, and operating temperature is -20 to 45 C.
Ideal For
Singapore landed homes, condominium balconies, side gates and shop entrances with a sunny wall and no power point, and buyers who want a solar camera that arrives complete rather than as a camera plus a separately ordered panel. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Published Footnotes
TP-Link publishes the following caveats for this camera and kit: "180-day battery life is based on Tapo laboratory tests with 250s of use per day. The time of use includes recording and watching live views. Actual battery life may vary due to device settings, usage, router specifications, and environmental factors."; "The recording durations in the table are estimated based on the average video bitrate measured in the laboratory. The actual recording duration in usage may vary depending on factors such as scene complexity, proportion of dynamic scenes, frame rate settings, and the resolution supported by the camera model."; "45 Minutes of daily direct sunlight ensures all-day monitoring"; "Built-in long-lasting rechargeable battery ensures power for up to 180 days on a single charge"; and "Supports up to 512 GB microSD card (not included)."
TP-Link publishes no battery capacity in mAh, no digital zoom figure, no net or gross weight and no bit-rate figure for this camera, so none is quoted here. It publishes no datasheet PDF for the kit either.
Compatibility & Software Support
| Tapo App | Required for setup and daily use; iOS 11.0 or higher, Android 5.0 or higher |
| Tapo Hub | Not required — the camera joins your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi directly, with no hub in the chain |
| Wi-Fi Band | 2.4 GHz only (IEEE 802.11b/g/n). A 5 GHz-only SSID will not work; keep a 2.4 GHz SSID available |
| Voice Control | Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, per TP-Link's Smart Integration row |
| Local Storage | microSD card in the camera, up to 512 GB. Card not included |
| Cloud Storage | Tapo Care, by subscription. Snapshot-in-notification needs an active Tapo Care plan |
| Solar Panel Included | Tapo A201 with its bracket. One panel serves one camera, so a second camera needs its own panel |
| Pet and Vehicle Detection | Not published for this camera. If you need vehicle or pet classification, the Tapo C425 range publishes it and we stock it |
| Continuous Recording | Not supported — a battery-powered Tapo camera records motion clips when activity is detected rather than recording continuously |
| Related Kits | TP-Link's own setup video groups this kit with the Tapo C410 KIT and Tapo C402 KIT |

Frequently Asked Questions — Tapo TC82 KIT
Which camera and which panel are actually in the box?
One Tapo C410 camera and one Tapo A201 solar panel, with the panel's bracket, an extension wire, a base cover, a USB adapter cable, screws, anchors, seals, caps, a cable tie, two mounting templates and the quick start guide. It is a single-camera kit, not a two-camera system.
Why do the links point at the Tapo C410 KIT?
Because TP-Link publishes no page under the TC82 name. Its own setup video for this kit is titled "Tapo C410 KIT & C402 KIT & TC82 KIT", so the C410 KIT page is the official source for the specification and the package contents. Every figure on this listing comes from TP-Link's own pages for that kit, its camera and its panel.
How much sun does it need?
TP-Link publishes 45 minutes of daily direct sunlight as enough for all-day monitoring, and up to 180 days of battery life per charge without any sun at all. A shaded north-facing wall will not deliver that, so aim the panel where it gets real midday sun.
Does it detect vehicles or pets?
No. TP-Link publishes motion detection and person detection for this camera only. If you want vehicle and pet classification, that is published for the Tapo C425 range, which we also stock.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Two years local Singapore warranty on the kit, with a GST invoice on every order and support handled here rather than overseas.
