The Tapo C211 pairs the same 2K 3MP sensor as the C210 with two things the C210 lacks: a rated 88 dB siren and microSD support all the way to 512 GB. For a shop or a home that wants an audible deterrent and a card that can be left alone for months rather than weeks, it is the more complete of the two 3MP pan/tilt models.
2K 3MP Across a Full 360 Degrees
A 1/2.8 inch sensor behind a 3.83 mm f/2.4 lens records 2304 x 1296, and the motorised head pans 340 degrees and tilts 70 degrees for what TP-Link states is 360 degree horizontal and 114.65 degree vertical coverage. One unit in a corner therefore watches an entire room, and the 2K resolution means the footage is still useful once you zoom into it. Video is compressed with H.264 at 15 fps.
An 88 dB Siren, Not Just a Notification
Where most cameras only send an alert, the C211 carries a siren rated at 88 dB measured at 10 cm, triggered automatically on detection or manually from the app. Combined with two-way audio through the built-in microphone and speaker with noise cancellation, it means you can challenge someone in the room from wherever you are — a materially different response from reviewing the recording afterwards.
512 GB of Local Recording, No Compulsory Subscription
The microSD slot accepts cards up to 512 GB — double the C210's 256 GB ceiling — so continuous recording runs far longer before it loops. Local storage costs nothing beyond the card, which is purchased separately. Tapo Care cloud storage remains available as an optional paid subscription for anyone who wants footage held off site as well, but the camera is complete without it.
Night Vision to 9 m and WPA2 Wireless Security
An 850 nm infrared LED covers up to 30 ft in full darkness, which spans a typical room or the length of a corridor. The camera joins 2.4 GHz 802.11b/g/n networks with WPA/WPA2-PSK. It runs from a supplied 9 V adapter and mounts either on a tabletop or inverted on a ceiling, in a 85.4 x 86.8 x 117.7 mm body small enough to sit on a shelf without dominating it.

Compatibility & Software Support
The Tapo C211 is set up and operated through the Tapo app, which manages every Tapo camera, plug, bulb and sensor in one place. It is a consumer Wi-Fi camera and is not part of the Omada or VIGI business ranges; it cannot be adopted into an Omada Controller and it is not managed by VIGI NVR software.
