PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

TP-Link Tapo Pan/Tilt Home Security Wi-Fi Camera (Tapo C212) - 3 Years Local Warranty

The Tapo C212 is the 2K 3MP pan/tilt camera with a wired option: alongside 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi it carries a 100 Mbps RJ45 port, so it can be cabled where wireless is congested or unreliable. Add a 90 dB siren and on-device person and baby-cry detection, and it suits places where a dropped Wi-Fi link is not acceptable.

A Wired Ethernet Port, Not Just Wi-Fi

TP-Link publishes a 1 x 100 Mbps RJ45 port on this model, which is unusual in the Tapo camera range and genuinely useful: a thick wall, a metal cabinet or a crowded 2.4 GHz band in a block of flats will all degrade a wireless camera, and a cable removes that variable entirely. Where a run is already in place — a shop counter, a stockroom, an office ceiling — cabling the camera makes the feed as reliable as the network itself.

2K 3MP Across a Full 360 Degrees

A 1/2.9 inch sensor and a 4 mm f/2.4 lens record 2304 x 1296. The head pans 340 degrees and tilts 70 degrees, which TP-Link states gives 360 degree horizontal and 116.65 degree vertical coverage, so a single unit watches an entire room. An 850 nm infrared LED extends usable vision to 30 ft after dark.

Person and Baby-Cry Detection, Plus a 90 dB Siren

Detection runs beyond simple motion: the C212 distinguishes person detection and baby-cry detection, which cuts the false alerts that make a camera's notifications easy to ignore. When something does warrant attention, a 90 dB siren measured at 10 cm can be triggered automatically or from the app, and two-way audio with noise cancellation lets you speak into the room through the built-in microphone and speaker.

512 GB Local Recording With No Subscription

The microSD slot takes cards up to 512 GB and recording to it is free, with Tapo Care cloud storage available only as an optional paid subscription. The camera ships with a 3 metre power cable on a 9 V 0.6 A adapter, and mounts on a tabletop or inverted on a ceiling in an 86.6 x 85 x 117.7 mm body.

Ideal For

Singapore shops, offices, clinics and homes where Wi-Fi is congested or the camera sits behind a wall that kills the signal, and where a wired fallback is worth having. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and volume pricing on request.

Compatibility & Software Support

The Tapo C212 is set up and operated through the Tapo app, which manages every Tapo camera, plug, bulb and sensor in one place. It is a consumer camera and is not part of the Omada or VIGI business ranges; it cannot be adopted into an Omada Controller and it is not managed by VIGI NVR software. The Ethernet port carries the camera's own traffic — it does not make the camera a managed network device.

Tapo App Supported — setup and remote viewing from iOS and Android
Wired Connection Supported — 1× 100 Mbps RJ45 port for a cabled network connection
Wi-Fi Requirement 2.4 GHz network required for wireless operation; the camera does not join 5 GHz networks
Tapo Care Optional paid cloud storage subscription; the camera records locally to microSD without it
Omada / VIGI Management Not supported — the Tapo range is separate from TP-Link's Omada and VIGI business lines

Where you need cameras that integrate with a business NVR or with central network management, ask SourceIT about the VIGI range instead.

Frequently Asked Questions — Tapo C212

Can the Tapo C212 run over a network cable instead of Wi-Fi?

TP-Link publishes a 1 x 100 Mbps RJ45 port on this model, which is the main thing distinguishing it from the C210 and C211. That makes it the one to choose where the wireless signal at the mounting point is poor.

Does it tell people apart from general movement?

Yes. TP-Link lists person detection and baby-cry detection alongside ordinary motion detection, which reduces nuisance alerts from pets, fans and shadows.

Does it need a subscription?

No. It records to a microSD card of up to 512 GB at no recurring cost. Tapo Care cloud storage is optional and paid.

What warranty does SourceIT provide?

Three years local Singapore warranty, per TP-Link Singapore's replacement warranty policy. Every Tapo C212 sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.

Can SourceIT quote this in quantity?

Yes. Send the quantity and site details and we will quote, including cabling and microSD cards if you want them supplied together.
