TP-Link Tapo C120 Indoor/Outdoor Wi-Fi Home Security Camera 2K QHD 4MP IP66
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link Tapo Indoor/Outdoor Wi-Fi Home Security Camera (Tapo C120) - 2 Years Local Warranty
The Tapo C120 packs 2K QHD 4MP and an IP66 rating into a body barely larger than a matchbox, so the same camera works on a bookshelf or under an eave. A starlight sensor with both 850 nm and 940 nm infrared, a 96 dB siren and nine kinds of on-device AI detection make it one of the most capable small cameras TP-Link publishes.
2K QHD 4MP From a Starlight Sensor
Video is captured at 2560 x 1440 on a 1/2.9 inch progressive-scan starlight CMOS through a 3.17 mm f/1.65 lens, with a 120 degree diagonal field of view. Twelve-times digital zoom, 3D DNR and WDR mean a backlit doorway or a dim corridor still yields a frame you can actually identify somebody from, and the frame rate adapts to brightness.
Two Infrared Wavelengths and Full-Colour Night Vision
The C120 carries both an 850 nm and a 940 nm infrared LED, each rated to 30 ft or 9 m, plus full-colour night vision. The 940 nm option matters indoors and in a bedroom or nursery: it is effectively invisible, so the camera does not put a visible red glow into a dark room the way most cameras do.
Nine Kinds of On-Device Detection
On-device machine learning covers motion, person, line-crossing, baby-cry, vehicle, pet, meow, bark and glass-breaking detection, with activity zones to keep a busy corridor or road from generating alerts all day. Sound detection is the part people underrate: a glass-break or a baby crying reaches you even when nothing has moved in frame. A 96 dB siren, measured at 10 cm, can answer an event directly.
IP66 Outside, Unobtrusive Inside, 512 GB Local Recording
At 67.4 x 57.4 x 44.1 mm the C120 sits on a shelf without dominating a room, and the IP66 rating and supplied metal plate, adhesive pad and mounting anchors let the same unit go outside on a wall. It runs from a 5 V USB-C supply on a 3-metre cable and records to microSD up to 512 GB, with Tapo Care cloud storage as an optional paid extra rather than a requirement.
Ideal For
Singapore HDB flats, condominiums, landed homes, shops and small offices that want one camera model that works indoors and out, with discreet night vision and local recording and no monthly fee. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and volume pricing on request.

Compatibility & Software Support
The Tapo C120 is set up and operated through the Tapo app, which manages every Tapo camera, plug, bulb and sensor in one place. It is a consumer Wi-Fi camera and is not part of the Omada or VIGI business ranges: it cannot be adopted into an Omada Controller and it is not managed by VIGI NVR software.
| Tapo App | Supported — setup and remote viewing from iOS and Android |
| Smart Integration | Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa |
| Wi-Fi Requirement | 2.4 GHz network required; the camera does not join 5 GHz networks |
| Tapo Care | Optional paid cloud storage; the camera records locally to microSD without it |
| Omada / VIGI Management | Not supported — the Tapo range is separate from TP-Link's Omada and VIGI business lines |
Where you need cameras that integrate with a business NVR or with central network management, ask SourceIT about the VIGI range instead.

Frequently Asked Questions — Tapo C120
Can I really use the same camera indoors and outdoors?
Yes. The C120 is rated IP66 and ships with mounting anchors, a metal plate and an adhesive pad, so it can sit on a shelf or mount on an exterior wall. Note that it runs from a 5 V USB-C supply, so an outdoor position still needs a protected route back to power.
What is the 940 nm infrared for?
It is invisible to the eye. The C120 carries both 850 nm and 940 nm infrared LEDs, each rated to 9 m, so indoors you can record in the dark without the visible red glow that most cameras give off.
Does it detect sounds as well as movement?
Yes. Alongside person, pet, vehicle and line-crossing detection, TP-Link publishes baby-cry, meow, bark and glass-breaking detection for this model, all handled on the device.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Two years local Singapore warranty. The C120 is rated IP66 for outdoor use, and TP-Link Singapore's replacement warranty policy places the outdoor camera series on a two-year term rather than the three-year default. Every Tapo C120 sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Can SourceIT quote this in quantity?
Yes. Send the quantity and site details and we will quote, including microSD cards, mounting and any Tapo accessories you want supplied with them.
