TP-Link Tapo Video Doorbell Camera (Tapo D235) - 1 Year Local Warranty
The Tapo D235 is a 2K 5MP (2560 x 1920) video doorbell with a tall 4:3 head-to-toe view, a built-in rechargeable battery rated by TP-Link for up to 210 days, and the option to hardwire it for continuous power. It ships with a plug-in Tapo Chime, detects people, pets, vehicles and packages, and records to a microSD card of up to 512 GB without a subscription.
2K 5MP, Head-to-Toe View
The 1/2.7-inch sensor records at 2560 x 1920 through a 1.18mm F1.8 lens with a 170.6° horizontal and 140.1° vertical field of view — TP-Link markets it as a 180° ultra-wide, head-to-toe view. The taller 4:3 frame shows a visitor's face and a parcel left on the mat in the same shot, with 3DNR and WDR image enhancement.
Battery or Hardwire
The built-in lithium-ion battery is rated for up to 210 days; TP-Link notes the figure includes recording and live viewing and varies with settings, usage, router and environment. Hardwired, the D235 supports 24/7 continuous recording. Different mounting wedges are supplied to angle the view for awkward door positions.
Chime Included, AI Alerts Without a Subscription
A Tapo Chime is in the box with a choice of ringtones. On-device detection identifies motion, people, pets, vehicles and packages, and Activity Zones (motion detection only) limit alerts to the part of the frame that matters. Night Vision, Two-Way Audio and Anti-Theft
Night vision reaches 10 m with 850 nm IR, and built-in spotlights provide full-colour night vision. Two-way audio has noise cancellation and a voice changer, or you can send a pre-recorded quick response. An anti-theft alarm alerts you if someone tries to remove the doorbell, and a 98dB siren is built in. The housing is IP66 rated.
