The Tapo D205 is a slim, battery-powered video doorbell that needs no doorbell wiring. It records 2K 3MP video through an ultra-wide 160 degree lens, rings your phone like a call when a visitor presses the button, and runs for up to 180 days on its built-in rechargeable battery, or indefinitely with an optional Tapo solar panel.
Sharp 2K With an Ultra-Wide 160 Degree View
Video is captured at 2304 x 1296 on a 1/2.8 inch CMOS sensor, and the 160 degree diagonal field of view (145 degrees horizontal) shows visitors from head to toe in a single frame. 3DNR and WDR keep faces readable against a bright corridor or doorway, and two 850 nm IR LEDs give black-and-white night vision up to 25 ft (7.6 m).
Answer the Door Like a Phone Call
When a visitor presses the doorbell you get a phone-style call and can talk to them instantly through two-way audio with noise cancellation. When you are busy, send a prerecorded Quick Response instead, and pair the doorbell with a Tapo hub or a smart speaker such as Echo Dot for an indoor chime.
Accurate Alerts With No Fees
A PIR motion sensor with a 25 ft detection range works with on-device person detection, so you are notified when someone is actually at your door, with no subscription required. Custom activity zones keep alerts to the area you care about.
Wire-Free Battery Power, IP54 Weatherproof
A built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery lasts up to 180 days, and Tapo A200, A201 and A202 solar panels (sold separately) keep it topped up. It sticks to the wall with the supplied 3M adhesive or screws in place, and the IP54 housing handles rain and dust. Footage records to a microSD card of up to 512 GB or to optional Tapo Care cloud storage.

Compatibility & Software Support
The Tapo D205 is set up and operated through the Tapo app, which manages every Tapo camera, doorbell, plug, bulb and sensor in one place. It is a consumer Wi-Fi device and is not part of the Omada or VIGI business ranges: it cannot be adopted into an Omada Controller and it is not managed by VIGI NVR software.
