TP-Link Tapo Outdoor Pan/Tilt Security WiFi Camera (Tapo C500) - 2 Years Local Warranty
The Tapo C500 is an affordable outdoor pan/tilt camera that turns to watch the whole area around it. It covers 360° horizontally from a single mounting point, records 1080p Full HD at 30 fps, sees in colour or infrared after dark, and lives outdoors in an IP65 weatherproof housing.
360° All-Round Protection
The head pans through a 340° mechanical range for 360° coverage and tilts through 90° for 132° of tilt coverage. You steer the view live from the Tapo app, so one camera covers a driveway, gate and yard that would otherwise need several fixed units.
1080p Full HD Day and Night
Video is recorded at 1920 x 1080 and 30 fps through a 3.89 mm F2.0 lens on a 1/3 inch CMOS sensor, with 3DNR and WDR for cleaner, balanced images. The 850 nm infrared LED reaches up to 98 ft (29.9 m) and colour night vision is available for clearer identification after dark.
Person Detection, Sound and Light Alarm
On-device detection picks out people as well as general motion and flags tampering, with custom activity zones to cut needless alerts. A customisable sound and light alarm with a 90 dB siren warns off intruders, and two-way audio with noise cancellation lets you speak through the camera. Physical privacy mode turns the lens into the housing when you want it off.
512 GB Local Recording, RTSP and ONVIF
Footage records to a microSD card of up to 512 GB with no compulsory cloud plan; Tapo Care is an optional subscription. RTSP and ONVIF support lets you bring the stream into third-party recording software, and Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa voice control are supported.

Compatibility & Software Support
The Tapo C500 is set up and operated through the Tapo app, which manages every Tapo camera, plug, bulb and sensor in one place. It is a consumer Wi-Fi camera and is not part of the Omada or VIGI business ranges: it cannot be adopted into an Omada Controller and it is not managed by VIGI NVR software.

Frequently Asked Questions — Tapo C500
How is the C500 different from the Tapo C530WS?
They share the same 123.8 x 123 x 90 mm pan/tilt housing. The C500 records 1080p (1920 x 1080) at up to 30 fps, connects by Wi-Fi only, has a 90 dB siren and is rated IP65. The C530WS steps up to 3K 5MP (2880 x 1620), adds an Ethernet port, built-in spotlights, pet, vehicle and line-crossing detection, a 93 dB siren and an IP66 rating.
Does it need a subscription?
No. It records to a microSD card of up to 512 GB (sold separately) and person detection runs on the camera. Tapo Care is an optional paid extra for cloud storage and snapshot notifications.
Can I pull the stream into my own recording software?
Yes. TP-Link publishes RTSP and ONVIF support for this model, so it is not locked to the Tapo app.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
