TP-Link Tapo C425 Smart Wire-Free Indoor/Outdoor Security Camera (2-pack)
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link Tapo Smart Wire-Free Indoor/Outdoor Security Camera, 2-Pack (Tapo C425) - 2 Years Local Warranty
Two Tapo C425 battery cameras in one carton, for a front and a back at the same time with no cable run to either. Each records 2K QHD 4MP at 2560 x 1440 across a 142 degree diagonal view, keeps colour after dark using two built-in spotlights, and runs up to 300 days on its 10000 mAh battery. Both bodies are IP66 rated and each takes its own microSD card of up to 512 GB.
2K QHD Detail Across a 142-Degree View
Maximum resolution is 2K QHD 4MP, 2560 x 1440 pixels, encoded in H.264 at 15/20/(25/30) fps as TP-Link publishes it. The F1.6 lens on this V2 hardware covers 142 degrees diagonally, 122 degrees horizontally and 66 degrees vertically, and a 12x digital zoom lets you pull in on a gate or a number plate after the event. A 1/3 inch progressive-scan CMOS starlight sensor does the low-light work, with 3DNR and WDR cleaning up noise and backlit doorways. Both cameras in the pack are the same model.
Full-Colour Night Vision and Twin Spotlights
An 850 nm infrared LED gives each camera monochrome vision to 49 ft, 15 m. Two built-in spotlights give full-colour night vision instead, so a visitor at the gate is a person in a red shirt rather than a grey shape. The spotlights double as a deterrent alongside a siren TP-Link rates at 94 dB, measured at a 4 inch, 10 cm distance. Two-way audio with noise cancellation runs through the built-in microphone and speaker on each unit.
On-Device Detection for People, Pets and Vehicles
A single motion sensor with a 130 degree horizontal field of view, paired with an ambient light sensor, drives AI detection that separates motion, person, pet and vehicle. Activity Zones let you mask the pavement or a neighbour's driveway so the phone stops buzzing at traffic, and each camera is zoned independently in the Tapo app. Notifications arrive as system alerts; notifications carrying a snapshot of the event require a Tapo Care subscription.
10000 mAh Battery, 300 Days, Optional Solar
Each camera carries its own 10000 mAh built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery. TP-Link publishes up to 300 days per charge at 230 seconds of use per day, falling to 180 days at 360 seconds per day — a per-camera figure, not a figure for the pack. The supplied USB adapter cable recharges them; the mains adapter is rated 100-240 V, 50/60 Hz input and 5.0 V, 2.0 A output. TP-Link names the Tapo A202 solar panel as the optional accessory, sold separately, and one panel drives one camera.
IP66 Weatherproofing and Magnetic Mounting
Each camera measures 116.2 x 64.8 x 64.8 mm and is rated IP66 against rain and dust. A magnetic base comes with the camera alongside a metal plate, mounting template, screws and anchors, so a camera sits on a shelf, a ceiling or a wall and twists to aim without tools. Operating temperature is -20 to 45 C and operating humidity 10 to 90 percent RH non-condensing; charging should be done between 0 and 45 C.
Ideal For
Singapore landed homes and shophouses covering a front and a rear approach at once, condominium units watching a balcony and a service yard, and site offices with no power or Ethernet at either mounting point. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Published Footnotes
TP-Link publishes the following caveats for this model: "300-day battery life is based on TP-Link laboratory tests with 230s of use per day. Increased usage of 360s per day reduces battery life to 180 days. Actual battery life may vary due to device settings, router specifications, usage, and environmental factors."; "microSD card purchased separately. Actual storage capacity depends on the size of the microSD card used."; "Subscribe for cloud storage at https://www.tapo.com/tapocare/"; "IP66 weatherproof only applies for Tapo C425 camera."; "Tapo solar panel purchased separately. Actual experience may vary due to placement angle, weather conditions, and camera usage."; and "Compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant supported displays. User experience is dependent on the connected device's specifications."
TP-Link does not publish a net or gross weight, a bit-rate figure or a minimum illumination figure for this model, so none is quoted here. It also publishes no area-coverage figure and no maximum number of cameras per Tapo account or per network, so neither is claimed for this 2-pack. No datasheet PDF is published on the Tapo C425 support page.
Compatibility & Software Support
| Tapo App | Required for setup and daily use; iOS 11.0 or higher, Android 5.0 or higher. Both cameras live in the same app |
| Tapo Hub | Not required — each camera joins your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi directly, with no hub in the chain |
| Wi-Fi Band | 2.4 GHz only (IEEE 802.11b/g/n). A 5 GHz-only SSID will not work; keep a 2.4 GHz SSID available |
| Voice Control | Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, per TP-Link's Smart Integration row |
| Local Storage | microSD card in each camera, up to 512 GB. Cards not included — you need one per camera |
| Cloud Storage | Tapo Care, by subscription. Check the plan's camera count before relying on it for both units |
| Solar Panel | TP-Link names Tapo A202 as the optional panel, sold separately. TP-Link states a solar panel can only connect to one camera, so two cameras need two panels |
| Continuous Recording | Not supported — TP-Link states a battery-powered camera records motion clips when activity is detected rather than recording continuously |
| Other Configurations | Single camera, 4-pack, and the Tapo C425 KIT solar bundle, all stocked by SourceIT |

The camera quantity above is taken from this listing's own pack size, and the accessory line is TP-Link's single-unit list.
microSD cards are not included, and nor is a solar panel. You will want one card per camera.

Frequently Asked Questions — Tapo C425 (2-pack)
Are the two cameras identical?
Yes. Both are the Tapo C425, the same model sold singly, and both appear separately in the Tapo app so you can name, zone and schedule each one on its own.
How long does the battery really last?
TP-Link publishes up to 300 days on a charge from the 10000 mAh battery, measured in its own laboratory at 230 seconds of use per day, falling to 180 days at 360 seconds per day. That is a per-camera figure, and a busy front gate will land nearer the lower number than a quiet side yard.
Do I need two microSD cards?
Yes, if you want local recording on both. Each camera has its own slot taking up to 512 GB and no card is supplied with either.
Can I put both on solar?
Yes, but you need two panels. TP-Link states that a solar panel can only connect to one camera, and TP-Link names the Tapo A202 panel as the optional accessory, sold separately.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Two years local Singapore warranty on the pack, with the internal battery covered for six months under TP-Link's replacement-warranty policy, with a GST invoice on every order and support handled here rather than overseas.
