TP-Link Tapo Pan/Tilt AI Home Security Wi-Fi Camera (Tapo C232) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The Tapo C232 is an indoor pan/tilt camera that records in 3K 5MP and gives you the choice of Wi-Fi or a wired Ethernet connection. The head turns through 360 degrees of pan coverage and 110 degrees of tilt coverage, so a single unit on a shelf or ceiling can watch a whole living room, shop floor or office instead of one fixed angle.
3K 5MP Detail on a 1/2.7 Inch Sensor
Video is captured at up to 2880 x 1620 on a 1/2.7 inch progressive scan CMOS sensor behind a 4 mm F2.2 lens with a 90 degree diagonal field of view. Frame rate is selectable at 15, 20, 25 or 30 fps, and 3D DNR and BLC help with noise and backlit scenes. 850 nm infrared night vision reaches up to 40 ft (12 m).
Wi-Fi or Ethernet, Your Choice
Unlike many home cameras, the C232 has a 10/100 Mbps RJ45 port on the camera as well as 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Run a cable where the signal is weak or where you simply want a steadier link, and use Wi-Fi everywhere else. RTSP and ONVIF are both supported for pulling the stream into third-party recording software.
Smart AI Detection With a 99 dB Siren
On-device detection covers motion, people, line crossing, tampering, vehicles, pets, baby crying, cat meowing, dog barking and glass breaking, with customisable activity zones. When something needs a response, a 99 dB siren and two-way audio with noise cancellation let you deter or speak to whoever is there.
Local microSD Recording, Optional Cloud
Footage records to a microSD card of up to 512 GB with no compulsory subscription; Tapo Care cloud storage is available as an optional paid extra. The camera also works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

Compatibility & Software Support
The Tapo C232 is set up and operated through the Tapo app, which manages every Tapo camera, plug, bulb and sensor in one place. It is a consumer Wi-Fi camera and is not part of the Omada or VIGI business ranges: it cannot be adopted into an Omada Controller and it is not managed as an Omada or VIGI device.

How is the C232 different from the C230?
Both record 3K 5MP (2880 x 1620) and pan and tilt. The C232 adds a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port for a wired connection and uses a 1/2.7 inch sensor with an F2.2 lens and a 90 degree diagonal view; the C230 is Wi-Fi only with a 1/3 inch Starlight sensor, an F2.0 lens and an 88 degree diagonal view.
Can I connect it with a network cable?
Yes. The camera has a 10/100 Mbps RJ45 port, so it can run on Ethernet instead of 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.
Can I pull the stream into my own recording software?
Yes. TP-Link publishes RTSP and ONVIF support for this model, so it is not locked to the Tapo app.
