The Tapo C222 is an indoor pan/tilt camera that records sharp 2K QHD 4MP video and turns to keep whatever moves in view. It covers 360 degrees horizontally and 110 degrees vertically, adds smart AI detection for people, pets and a crying baby, and connects over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or a wired 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port for a steadier link.
2K QHD 4MP With 360° Pan and 110° Tilt Coverage
Video is captured at 2560 x 1440 on a 1/3 inch progressive scan CMOS sensor, with selectable frame rates of 15, 20, 25 or 30 fps. The motorised head gives 360 degrees of horizontal and 110 degrees of vertical coverage, and Precise Motion Tracking automatically follows a moving subject so it stays in frame.
Smart AI Detection and Instant Alerts
On-device detection recognises motion, people, pets and a crying baby, and also flags line crossing and camera tampering. Vehicle, glass-breaking, dog-bark and cat-meow detection are offered as beta functions. Activity zones limit alerts to the areas you care about, and a 99 dB siren can be sounded to deter unwanted visitors.
Night Vision, Two-Way Audio and Privacy Zones
850 nm infrared night vision sees up to 40 ft (12 m) in the dark. A built-in microphone and speaker give two-way audio with noise cancellation, and customisable privacy zones block off areas of the frame you do not want recorded.
Wi-Fi or Ethernet, Local or Cloud Storage
Connect over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or plug into the 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port. Footage records to a microSD card of up to 512 GB, with Tapo Care cloud storage as an optional subscription, and RTSP and ONVIF support lets you bring the stream into third-party recording software. Voice control works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

Can the C222 be used outdoors?
No. TP-Link does not give it a weather-resistance rating and lists tabletop and ceiling mounting for indoor use. For outdoor coverage, ask SourceIT about the Tapo outdoor pan/tilt cameras.
Can I connect it with a cable instead of Wi-Fi?
Yes. It has a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port, so you can run it on a wired connection, or use 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi where cabling is not practical.
Can I pull the stream into my own recording software?
Yes. TP-Link lists RTSP and ONVIF support for the Tapo C222, so it is not locked to the Tapo app.
