PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

TP-Link Tapo AI Home Security Wi-Fi Camera (Tapo C125) - 3 Years Local Warranty

The Tapo C125 answers the objection most people have to an indoor camera: a physical privacy shutter that closes over the lens at the touch of a button. Behind it sits a 2K QHD starlight sensor with a 140 degree ultra-wide lens, dual-wavelength night vision and ten AI detection types, in a body small enough to sit unnoticed on a shelf.

A Physical Privacy Shutter, Not a Software Toggle

A mechanical shutter closes across the lens, controlled either by a button on the camera or from the Tapo app. This matters because a software "privacy mode" asks you to trust that the camera really stopped looking; a shutter you can see is closed removes the question entirely. For a bedroom, a home office or a consultation room, it is often what makes an indoor camera acceptable in the first place.

140 Degree Ultra-Wide View in 2K QHD

A 1/2.9 inch progressive scan CMOS starlight sensor records 2560 x 1440 through a 2.45 mm f/2.0 lens, giving a very wide 140 degree diagonal and 120 degree horizontal field. This is a fixed camera rather than a pan/tilt one, but the width of the lens means a single unit still takes in most of a room from a corner — with no motor to fail and nothing that needs steering.

Dual-Wavelength Night Vision and Ten Detection Types

Both 850 nm and 940 nm infrared LEDs are fitted, each rated to 30 ft (9 m); the 940 nm emitters are effectively invisible, so the camera does not announce itself with a red glow in a dark room. Detection covers motion, person, line-crossing, tamper, baby cry, vehicle, pet, meow, bark and glass-breaking, letting you alert only on what matters rather than on every shadow.

Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth, With 512 GB Local Recording

The C125 lists IEEE 802.11b/g/n/ax on 2.4 GHz plus BLE, so it associates properly with a modern Wi-Fi 6 network and pairs quickly during setup. Recording goes to a microSD card of up to 512 GB with no subscription; Tapo Care cloud storage is optional and paid. A 94 dB siren provides the audible response, and at 76.4 x 66.4 x 44.6 mm the camera is genuinely small.

Ideal For

Singapore homes, bedrooms, home offices, clinics and consultation rooms where privacy matters as much as coverage, and anywhere a wide fixed view is preferable to a motorised head. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and volume pricing on request.

Compatibility & Software Support

The Tapo C125 is set up and operated through the Tapo app, which manages every Tapo camera, plug, bulb and sensor in one place. It is a consumer Wi-Fi camera and is not part of the Omada or VIGI business ranges; it cannot be adopted into an Omada Controller and it is not managed by VIGI NVR software.

Tapo App Supported — setup and remote viewing from iOS and Android
Bluetooth BLE supported, used during setup
Smart Integration Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit
Wi-Fi Requirement 2.4 GHz network required; the camera supports 802.11ax on that band but does not join 5 GHz networks
Tapo Care Optional paid cloud storage subscription; the camera records locally to microSD without it
Omada / VIGI Management Not supported — the Tapo range is separate from TP-Link's Omada and VIGI business lines

Where you need cameras that integrate with a business NVR or with central network management, ask SourceIT about the VIGI range instead.

Frequently Asked Questions — Tapo C125

How does the privacy shutter work?

It is a physical shutter that closes over the lens, operated by a button on the camera or from the Tapo app. Unlike a software privacy mode, you can see for yourself that the lens is covered.

Does the C125 pan and tilt?

No. It is a fixed camera, which is why the lens is so wide — 140 degrees diagonal and 120 degrees horizontal. If you need a motorised head, look at the Tapo C220 or C225.

Is the night vision visible?

Only partly. The camera has both 850 nm LEDs, which glow faintly red, and 940 nm LEDs, which are effectively invisible. Both are rated to 30 ft (9 m).

What warranty does SourceIT provide?

Three years local Singapore warranty. Every Tapo C125 sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.

Can SourceIT quote this in quantity?

Yes. Send the quantity and site details and we will quote, including microSD cards sized for the retention you need.
