TP-Link Tapo A100 Battery Pack 6700mAh for Tapo Battery Cameras
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link Tapo Battery Pack (Tapo A100) - 6 Months Local Warranty
The Tapo A100 is the spare rechargeable battery for Tapo battery-powered cameras and video doorbells — not a phone power bank. It is a 3.6 V, 6700 mAh lithium-ion pack that drops into the device's battery bay, recharges over Micro USB in around five hours, and carries six-way protection. TP-Link publishes up to 180 days of use per charge. It fits a specific list of Tapo models only.
A Camera Battery, Not a Power Bank
This is the point buyers most often get wrong, so it is worth stating plainly: the Tapo A100 has no USB-A output socket and cannot charge a phone, tablet or router. Its single Micro USB port is an input, used to recharge the pack itself. The pack seats inside the battery compartment of a supported Tapo camera or doorbell and powers that device directly. TP-Link markets it as a spare or replacement cell so one battery charges indoors while the other keeps the camera live.
6700 mAh at 3.6 V, Around Five Hours to Charge
TP-Link publishes a battery capacity of 6700 mAh and an adapter output of 3.6 V for the A100, with charging over Micro USB taking around five hours — a figure TP-Link footnotes as varying with adapter specifications and environmental temperature. The cells are described as premium lithium-ion with no memory effect, so the pack can be topped up at any state of charge without needing to be fully drained first. A USB adapter cable is supplied in the box; no mains USB charger is published as included, so use an existing 5 V USB charger or a computer port.
Up to 180 Days Per Charge, With TP-Link's Own Caveat
TP-Link states the A100 can extend usage time up to approximately 180 days on a charge. That figure comes with a published caveat: it was measured in TP-Link's own laboratory and real battery life varies with device settings, how often the camera is triggered, and environmental conditions. In Singapore, a busy front-gate camera recording many events a day will sit well short of 180 days; a low-traffic corridor camera will run closer to it.
Six-Way Protection Built In
The pack carries protection against over-charging, over-discharging, over-current, over-voltage, short circuiting and over-heating. TP-Link groups these as six-way protection and the same list appears on the pack's own specification page. This matters for an accessory that will spend months mounted outdoors inside a camera and then be brought inside and charged unattended. Note that the protection circuitry is in the battery; it does not make the battery itself weatherproof — see the next section.
No Published IP Rating — Weather Sealing Is the Camera's Job
TP-Link does not publish an IP or weather-resistance rating for the A100, and we do not claim one. The pack's own published operating range is -20 to 45 C at 10 to 90 percent relative humidity, non-condensing, and TP-Link separately publishes that the charging temperature should be kept between 0 and 45 C. Protection from rain and dust comes from the sealed battery compartment of the host camera, not from the battery. Keep the pack in its device or indoors, and do not mount or store it exposed. Published dimensions are 70.5 x 41.4 x 22 mm; TP-Link publishes no weight for this model.
Ideal For
Owners of a Tapo C420, C400 or D230 who want a second battery so the camera never goes dark during a charge cycle, and anyone replacing a pack that has aged out after a few years outdoors. Also the right buy alongside a Tapo A200 or A201 solar panel, where the panel tops the pack up in place. Check your camera model against the compatibility tab before ordering — this battery is not universal. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Published Footnotes
TP-Link publishes the following caveats for this model: "†180-day battery life is from TP-Link's laboratory. Actual battery life may vary based on device settings, use, and environmental factors."; "*Actual charging time may vary based on adapter specifications and environmental temperature."; and "**The charging temperature for Tapo A100 should be maintained between 0-45℃(32℉-113℉)."
TP-Link does not publish a net or gross weight, an IP rating, a charge cycle life, or a certification list for the Tapo A100, so none is quoted here. TP-Link's page also states only "More products will be supported in the future" rather than naming further models, so no additional compatibility is claimed.
Compatibility & Software Support
This battery is not universal. TP-Link publishes one specific list of supported devices, and nothing beyond that list is claimed here. If your camera or doorbell is not named here, TP-Link does not state that the A100 fits it, and we do not claim it does.
| Supported Tapo Devices | Works with Tapo C420, Tapo C400, Tapo D230. More products will be supported in the future. |
| Tapo App | The host camera or doorbell is set up and managed in the Tapo app for Android and iOS; battery level is reported in the app by the device, not by the pack |
| Tapo Hub | Not required by the battery itself. Whether a hub is needed depends on the host device, not on the A100 |
| Voice Control (Google Assistant / Alexa) | Not applicable — the A100 is a power accessory with no network connection of its own. Voice control is a function of the host camera where TP-Link publishes it for that camera |
| Storage (microSD / Tapo Care Cloud) | Not applicable — the A100 stores no video. Recording storage is a function of the host device |
| Pairs With — Tapo Solar Panels | Tapo A200 (Micro USB output) and Tapo A201 (Type-C output, Micro USB adapter included) can keep the host camera's battery topped up in place. Check each panel's own published camera compatibility list, which differs from this one |
| Charger Required | A 5 V USB power source. A USB adapter cable is supplied; a mains USB charger is not published as included |

Frequently Asked Questions — Tapo A100
Can I use this to charge my phone?
No. The A100 is a replacement battery for Tapo cameras and doorbells, not a power bank. Its single Micro USB port is an input for recharging the pack — there is no USB output socket, so it cannot power a phone, tablet or router.
Which Tapo devices does it fit?
TP-Link publishes exactly this list: Tapo C420, Tapo C400 and Tapo D230, adding that more products will be supported in future. It is not universal across the Tapo range. If your model is not on that list, check before ordering.
How long does one charge last, and how long does charging take?
TP-Link publishes up to approximately 180 days per charge, measured in its own laboratory, with actual life varying by device settings, how much activity the camera sees and environmental conditions. Recharging over Micro USB takes around five hours, varying with the adapter used and the ambient temperature.
Can I leave it outdoors?
Only inside the sealed battery compartment of a supported camera. TP-Link publishes no IP rating for the battery itself. Its own operating range is -20 to 45 C at 10 to 90 percent humidity, non-condensing, and TP-Link asks that charging be done between 0 and 45 C.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Six months local Singapore warranty. This is the tier that applies to internal batteries and battery packs, which are treated as consumable, and it is shorter than the warranty on the cameras themselves. A GST invoice is issued with every order.
