TP-Link TL-PA4010 KIT AV500 Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link AV500 Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit (TL-PA4010 KIT) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The TL-PA4010 KIT is TP-Link's entry-level powerline pair: a nano-sized adapter that turns a wall point into a network port, built on the HomePlug AV standard. It is the least expensive way to get a stable wired link into a room the Wi-Fi does not reach, and its small body does not block the socket next to it.
HomePlug AV in a Nano Body
TP-Link's feature copy describes the adapter as HomePlug AV standard compliant with data transfer rates of up to 500 Mbps; that figure sits in the page's feature copy rather than in the specification table, so we quote it as TP-Link presents it. The published standards set is HomePlug AV, IEEE 802.3 and IEEE 802.3u. Note the generational point: this is HomePlug AV, not the newer AV2 used by the TL-PA7017 and TL-PA9020P families, though TP-Link's footnote confirms AV and AV2 adapters interoperate.
A 10/100 Ethernet Port, Not Gigabit
The Interface row is published as 1 x 10/100 Mbps Ethernet Port. That is the practical ceiling for any single device plugged into the adapter, whatever the powerline headline figure says — the two numbers describe different segments of the path and TP-Link publishes both on the same page. For a smart TV, a set-top box, a printer or a games console this is ample; for a NAS transfer or a Gigabit desktop link, choose the TL-PA7017 KIT instead.
128-bit AES and One-Touch Pairing
Powerline traffic is encrypted with 128-bit AES. Setup is a single Pair button on each adapter; no software is required for a basic link. Power draw is published at a maximum of 4.60 W, typical 4.26 W and 0.88 W standby, measured at 220 V/50 Hz. The kit is rated up to 300 metres over existing electrical wiring.
The Widest Certification of the Range
This is the only model in TP-Link's current Singapore powerline line-up whose certification row reads CE, FCC and RoHS — the newer AV1000 and AV2000 models publish CE and RoHS only. Operating range is 0~40°C with storage from -40 to 70°C, and humidity 10%~90% non-condensing in operation.
Ideal For
Singapore homes and small offices that need one cheap, dependable wired drop for a TV, console or printer, rented units where cabling is not permitted, and buyers who want to test whether powerline works on their wiring before committing to a faster kit. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and volume pricing on request.
Note: TP-Link's package-content row for this kit is written in the singular and still lists a Resource CD, on a product whose current hardware revision is V3. We reproduce the row as published rather than correcting it, and state no quantity TP-Link does not state. The page publishes no net weight, no compatibility row and no QoS row; none is claimed here. This is also the only model in the range to publish two product images rather than a full gallery — that is TP-Link's published asset set, not an omission on our side.

TP-Link publishes no compatibility row, no QoS row and no net weight for this model, so none is claimed here. This model has no passthrough socket.
Compatibility & Software Support
| Powerline Standard | HomePlug AV (not HomePlug AV2) |
| Other Powerline Adapters | TP-Link publishes no compatibility row for this model; its footnotes discuss HomePlug AV specifications and the interoperability of HomePlug AV and AV2 adapters |
| G.hn Powerline | Not applicable — HomePlug and G.hn are different powerline standards and do not interoperate |
| Utility | tpPLC Utility, downloadable from TP-Link support |
| Setup | Pair button; no software required for a basic link |
| Operating System | Windows 8/7/Vista/XP/2000, Mac, Linux (as published — note the list predates Windows 10 and 11; the adapter itself is OS-independent once paired) |
Both adapters should sit on the same consumer unit. Extension leads, RCD/AFCI breakers and separate circuits all reduce throughput.

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-PA4010 KIT
Why is the port only 10/100 if the powerline rate is 500 Mbps?
They describe different parts of the path. TP-Link publishes a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet interface and quotes up to 500 Mbps for the powerline link in its feature copy. A single device connected to the adapter is limited by the 10/100 port. If you need a Gigabit port, look at the TL-PA7017 KIT.
Will it work with my existing TP-Link powerline adapters?
TP-Link publishes no compatibility row for this model, but its footnotes state that HomePlug AV and AV2 standard adapters interoperate. It will not work with G.hn powerline products such as the Deco PX50.
Is the Resource CD still in the box?
TP-Link still lists one in the published package contents, though the current hardware revision is V3 and the utility is a download. Ask us before ordering if you need this confirmed for the stock we hold.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Three years local Singapore warranty, in line with TP-Link's published replacement warranty for this category. Every unit sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Can SourceIT quote this in volume?
Yes. Send us the quantity and the delivery date and we will quote.
