TP-Link TL-WPA8631P KIT AV1300 Gigabit Passthrough Powerline ac Wi-Fi Kit
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link AV1300 Gigabit Passthrough Powerline ac Wi-Fi Kit (TL-WPA8631P KIT) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The TL-WPA8631P KIT pairs a plain powerline adapter at the router with a powerline-plus-Wi-Fi extender at the far end, so a back room gets both three Gigabit ports and its own dual-band wireless. Powerline carries up to 1300 Mbps over the existing wiring, and both units keep their wall socket usable through an integrated passthrough outlet.
1300 Mbps Powerline With Gigabit Ethernet Throughout
TP-Link publishes transmission speeds of up to 1300 Mbps on the powerline side and 10/100/1000 Mbps on Ethernet, over HomePlug AV2 with IEEE 1901 support, rated to 300 metres of wiring. As TP-Link's own footnote states, the powerline figure is the physical rate derived from the HomePlug specification: actual throughput varies with electrical interference, traffic, network overhead, AFCI breakers and whether the units sit on separate circuits.
Three Gigabit Ports at the Far End
The TL-WPA8631P extender carries three Gigabit Ethernet ports, not one — enough for a TV, a console and a desktop in the same room without adding a switch. The kit also supports ToS-based QoS with four traffic levels and eight VLAN priority levels, plus IGMP v1/v2/v3 snooping, which matters for IPTV services that rely on multicast.
Dual-Band Wi-Fi With OneMesh Support
The extender publishes 300 Mbps at 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps at 5 GHz, and it supports OneMesh, so where the main router is also a OneMesh device the two form a single network with one name and unified roaming rather than a separate extender SSID. Wireless security is published as WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK and WEP; powerline traffic is separately encrypted with 128-bit AES.
Passthrough Sockets and App-Based Management
Both units plug through, so neither wall point is lost. Buttons on the extender cover Pair, LED On/Off, Wi-Fi and Reset, and TP-Link's tpPLC app or the tpPLC desktop utility can be used to see link rates and manage the powerline network. Power draw is published per unit: the TL-WPA8631P at a maximum of 13 W, typical 11 W; the TL-PA8010P adapter at a maximum of 4.9 W, typical 4.6 W.
Ideal For
Singapore homes and small offices where one distant room needs both wired ports and its own Wi-Fi — a home office, an attic study, a rear shophouse unit — and installations where structured cabling is impractical. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and volume pricing on request.
Note: TP-Link's Wireless Standards row for this model lists 802.11ax alongside ax-capable 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz entries, while the same page's Standards and Protocols row lists 802.11a/n/ac only and the product is named, rated and marketed as an "ac" device at 300 + 867 Mbps. Both rows are reproduced below as published; the ac rating is the one consistent with the published signal rates. TP-Link publishes no net weight, no storage-temperature row and no FCC certification for this model, so none is claimed here.

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-WPA8631P KIT
Is this Wi-Fi 6?
No. The product is named, rated and marketed by TP-Link as an 802.11ac device at 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 867 Mbps on 5 GHz. One row on TP-Link's page also lists 802.11ax, which contradicts the rest of the page; we reproduce both rather than pick one, and the published signal rates are ac-class.
What is in the box — two identical units?
No. The kit contains one TL-WPA8631P (the powerline Wi-Fi extender with three Gigabit ports) and one TL-PA8010P (a plain powerline adapter that sits at the router).
Does it replace my router's Wi-Fi network name?
With a OneMesh-capable TP-Link router, the extender joins the same network with one SSID and unified roaming. With any other router it runs as its own wireless network.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Three years local Singapore warranty, in line with TP-Link's published replacement warranty for this category. Every unit sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Can SourceIT quote this in volume?
Yes. Send us the quantity and the delivery date and we will quote, including advice on additional add-on units.
