TP-Link TL-WPA7517 KIT AV1000 Gigabit Powerline ac Wi-Fi Kit
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link AV1000 Gigabit Powerline ac Wi-Fi Kit (TL-WPA7517 KIT) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The TL-WPA7517 KIT pairs a plain AV1000 powerline adapter at the router with a powerline Wi-Fi extender at the far end, so a distant room gets both a Gigabit port and its own dual-band wireless. TP-Link markets the wireless side as AC750 — 300 Mbps at 2.4 GHz and 433 Mbps at 5 GHz — over a powerline link rated at up to 1000 Mbps.
AV1000 Powerline on HomePlug AV2
Transmission speeds are published as up to 1000 Mbps on powerline and 10/100/1000 Mbps on Ethernet, over HomePlug AV2 and HomePlug AV with IEEE 1901 support, rated to 300 metres of existing wiring. TP-Link's footnote states plainly that the powerline figure is the physical rate derived from the HomePlug specification, and that real throughput varies with electrical interference, traffic volume, network overhead, AFCI circuit breakers and whether the units sit on separate circuits.
Dual-Band AC750 Wi-Fi Where the Router Cannot Reach
The TL-WPA7517 extender publishes 300 Mbps at 2.4 GHz and 433 Mbps at 5 GHz. Its Wi-Fi Clone button copies the router's network name and password in one press, so devices in the far room join what looks like the same network without reconfiguration. Wireless security is published as WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK and WEP, with powerline traffic separately encrypted at 128-bit AES.
One Gigabit Port on Each Unit
Both units carry a single Gigabit Ethernet port: one at the router end, one at the extender end. That is enough for a smart TV, console or desktop; for several wired devices in one room, the TL-WPA8631P KIT publishes three ports on its extender. Power draw is published per unit — the TL-WPA7517 at a maximum of 11 W and typical 6.5 W, the TL-PA7017 at a maximum of 2.9 W and typical 2.6 W.
Compact Units With Button-Led Setup
The extender measures 69.5 x 35 x 124.1 mm and the adapter 52 x 28.5 x 65 mm, so neither is bulky on a socket wall. Buttons cover Pair, Reset, Wi-Fi Clone and LED On/Off, and TP-Link's tpPLC app or desktop utility can be used to inspect and manage the powerline network.
Ideal For
Singapore homes and small offices where one far room needs both a wired port and usable Wi-Fi — a study, a rear bedroom, a mezzanine — and where running Cat 6 is impractical. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and volume pricing on request.
Note: TP-Link's page for this model publishes two different and incompatible mesh claims — "EasyMesh-Compatible" in one section and "OneMesh Supported" in another. Both are reproduced below as published; please confirm with us which applies to your router before relying on mesh behaviour. The same page's Wireless Standards row lists 802.11ax while the Standards and Protocols row lists a/n/ac only and the product is rated AC750; both are reproduced. TP-Link publishes no net weight, no storage-temperature row and no FCC certification for this model, so none is claimed here, and it publishes no power socket in the Interface row — this kit is not a passthrough model.

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-WPA7517 KIT
What is AC750?
It is the combined wireless class: 300 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band plus 433 Mbps on the 5 GHz band, as published by TP-Link for the TL-WPA7517 extender. Those are physical rates, not guaranteed throughput.
Does it support mesh?
TP-Link's own page makes two different claims — EasyMesh-compatible in one place, OneMesh in another. We reproduce both rather than guess. Tell us your router model and we will confirm before you order.
Can I keep using the wall socket?
TP-Link lists no power socket in the Interface row for either unit, so this kit should be treated as non-passthrough. If a passthrough socket matters, look at the TL-PA7017P KIT or the TL-WPA8631P KIT.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Three years local Singapore warranty, in line with TP-Link's published replacement warranty for this category. Every unit sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Can SourceIT quote this in volume?
Yes. Send us the quantity and the delivery date and we will quote.
