PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link 8-Port Gigabit Easy Smart Switch (TL-SG108E) - Local Warranty
The TL-SG108E is the eight-port Easy Smart switch that gives a small office or a single floor real VLAN and QoS control in a 158 mm metal case drawing under 3 W. It is the standard answer when an unmanaged desktop switch is no longer enough but a rack-mounted managed switch would be overkill.
Eight Gigabit Ports, Fanless, Under Three Watts
Eight 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports with auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDIX give 16 Gbps of switching capacity and 11.9 Mpps of forwarding. Maximum power consumption is 2.7 W with a maximum heat dissipation of 9.3 BTU/h, and the switch is fanless in a 158 x 101 x 25 mm steel body powered by a 5 V DC/0.6 A adapter. It is small enough to sit behind a monitor or inside a wall cabinet and silent enough for a meeting room.
VLANs and Traffic Priority on a Small Network
Up to 32 VLANs can run simultaneously, drawn from the full 4K VLAN ID range, in MTU, port-based or 802.1Q tag-based mode. On a small site that is what lets a guest Wi-Fi access point, a couple of IP cameras and the office workstations share one switch without seeing each other's traffic. Quality of Service covers port-based, 802.1p and DSCP priority across four queues, with rate limiting and storm control to keep one noisy device from taking the segment down.
Multicast Control, Link Aggregation and Cable Diagnostics
IGMP Snooping v1/v2/v3 confines multicast to the ports that requested it, which is what keeps a camera or IPTV stream from flooding all eight ports. Static link aggregation lets you bond ports into a wider, more resilient uplink to the core switch. Port mirroring gives you a capture point for troubleshooting, cable diagnostics identify a failing patch lead from the web interface, and loop prevention guards against the accidental patch loop that would otherwise bring the network down.
Generous Buffers and Jumbo Frame Support for the Size
Despite the small footprint the TL-SG108E carries a 4K MAC address table, 1.5 Mb of packet buffer memory and jumbo frame support up to 16 KB — useful where NAS or backup traffic crosses the switch. It is rated 0-40 C operating with 10-90% non-condensing humidity, certified to FCC, CE and RoHS, and ships with the power adapter, installation guide and rubber feet.
Ideal For
Singapore small offices, home offices, clinics, shops and meeting rooms that need eight Gigabit ports with VLAN separation, and integrators adding a managed-lite edge switch behind a router or at a remote desk cluster. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-SG108E
What is the difference between the TL-SG108E and the TL-SG108PE?
Both are eight-port Gigabit Easy Smart switches with the same management feature set. The TL-SG108PE adds four 802.3af/at PoE+ ports with a 64 W budget; the TL-SG108E has no PoE at all.
Can it be adopted into an Omada Controller?
No. Omada Controller adoption is a feature of the Omada JetStream smart and managed ranges. Tell us how the site will be managed and we will recommend the right model.
How many VLANs does it support?
Up to 32 at once, selected from the full 4K VLAN ID range, in MTU, port-based or 802.1Q tag-based mode.
Does it need the Windows utility?
No. Day-to-day configuration is done in a web browser. TP-Link's Easy Smart Configuration Utility is a Windows tool that makes discovering and batch-configuring several switches easier.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Local Singapore warranty, with a GST invoice supplied on every order. Contact us for the current warranty term on this model before you order.
