PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link 8-Port Gigabit Desktop Switch (TL-SG1008D) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The TL-SG1008D is the straightforward eight-port Gigabit desktop switch: a 16 Gbps non-blocking fabric, a 4K MAC address table, 15 KB jumbo frames and a 4.6 W maximum draw, in a 180 mm case with no fan and no configuration. It is the switch to specify when a workgroup simply needs more wired ports and nothing else.
Eight Gigabit Ports, Plug and Play
Eight 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports with auto-negotiation and Auto MDI/MDIX. There is no web interface, no console and no controller: plug the uplink into the router or the upstream switch, plug the endpoints into the rest, and the segment works. For desks, printers, NAS units and access-point uplinks in a small office, that is the whole requirement.
16 Gbps Non-Blocking With a 4K MAC Table
A 16 Gbps switching capacity is full wire speed across all eight ports at full duplex simultaneously — the switch never becomes the bottleneck between two endpoints. A 4K MAC address table is sized for a small office segment including an access point carrying wireless clients, and jumbo frames to 15 KB help file-server and backup transfers. Store-and-forward switching validates frames before forwarding them.
4.6 W Maximum, Green Technology to 80%
TP-Link rates the Green Technology implementation at up to 80 per cent power saving and the switch at a 4.6 W maximum draw with 15.8 BTU/h of heat, from an external 9 V DC / 0.6 A adapter. There is no fan, so the unit runs silent and can sit on a desk, on a shelf or inside a cupboard without a cooling consideration. 802.3x flow control and back pressure handle congestion in both duplex modes.
Compact 180 mm Case
At 180 x 90 x 26 mm the TL-SG1008D fits where a rack-style switch cannot — behind a monitor, in an AV cabinet, inside shallow reception furniture. That compactness, combined with the external adapter, is the practical difference between this model and its rack-mountable sibling the TL-SG1008. Check the hardware version before ordering to a fixed specification: V8 is current and V7 is also listed.
Ideal For
Singapore small offices, clinics, shops and home offices adding eight Gigabit ports where space is tight and nothing needs to be managed or powered over Ethernet. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Reproduced exactly as TP-Link publishes it for the V8 hardware. No packet forwarding rate, packet buffer, QoS, IGMP Snooping, EAN or carton pack size figure is published for this model, so those rows are omitted rather than carried across from the TL-SG108, which is a different product with a different published spec set. Note that the certification row lists FCC and RoHS only, with no CE mark stated, and the storage temperature ceiling is 60 °C, lower than the 70 °C of the rackmount models in this family.
Compatibility & Software Support
The TL-SG1008D is an unmanaged switch with no PoE. There is no web interface, command line or controller adoption.
| Omada SDN Controller | Not supported — this model cannot be adopted into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller |

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-SG1008D
How does it differ from the TL-SG1008?
The TL-SG1008D is the compact 180 mm desktop unit with an external 9 V adapter. The TL-SG1008 is a 294 mm metal chassis with an internal power supply and a rackmount kit for 13-inch or 19-inch cabinets.
How does it differ from the TL-SG108?
Both are eight-port Gigabit desktop switches, but TP-Link publishes different figures for each. The TL-SG108 documents IGMP Snooping, 802.1p/DSCP QoS and a 1.5 Mb packet buffer; the TL-SG1008D documents a 16 Gbps switching capacity and 15 KB jumbo frames. If multicast video matters, ask us about the TL-SG108.
Does it supply PoE?
No. For powered cameras or access points, look at the TL-SG1008P or TL-SG1008MP.
Can it be adopted into an Omada Controller?
No. It is unmanaged and has no management interface of any kind.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty, in line with TP-Link's replacement warranty policy for unmanaged Gigabit switches. Every unit sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
