PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link 5-Port Gigabit Easy Smart Switch (TL-SG105E) - Local Warranty
The TL-SG105E is the smallest switch in TP-Link's Easy Smart line: five Gigabit ports, a 100 mm square steel case, 2.82 W of draw — and the same VLAN, QoS and IGMP snooping engine as its larger siblings. It is what you specify when a desk pod or a remote corner of the building needs managed behaviour rather than a dumb five-port switch.
Five Gigabit Ports in a 100 mm Footprint
Five 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports with auto-negotiation and auto MDI/MDIX deliver 7.4 Mpps of forwarding in a 100 x 98 x 25 mm fanless metal body. Power comes from a 5 V DC/0.6 A adapter, maximum consumption is 2.82 W at 220 V/50 Hz and maximum heat dissipation is 9.62 BTU/h. It is small enough to velcro under a desk or tuck into a wall box, and it makes no noise at all.
Full VLAN Control at the Edge of the Network
Up to 32 VLANs can be active at once from the full 4K VLAN ID range, in MTU, port-based or 802.1Q tag-based mode. That is the feature that makes a five-port switch worth managing: a desk cluster can carry a tagged voice VLAN to the handset and an untagged data VLAN to the PC behind it, or a camera and a signage player can sit on separate segments at the far end of a single uplink. Configuration is through a web browser or TP-Link's Easy Smart Configuration Utility.
QoS, Multicast and Loop Protection Where It Matters
Quality of Service covers port-based, 802.1p and DSCP priority across four queues, with rate limiting and storm control per port. IGMP Snooping v1/v2/v3 keeps multicast traffic off ports that did not ask for it. Loop prevention matters more on small edge switches than anywhere else, because they are the ones that end up in meeting rooms where someone patches both ends of a cable into the same unit — the TL-SG105E detects and blocks that condition.
Jumbo Frames and Diagnostics Despite the Size
The switch carries a 2K MAC address table, 1 Mb of packet buffer memory and jumbo frame support up to 16 KB. Static link aggregation, port mirroring and cable diagnostics are all present, so the same troubleshooting workflow used on the larger Easy Smart switches applies here. It is rated 0-40 C operating, 10-90% non-condensing humidity, and certified to FCC, CE and RoHS.
Ideal For
Singapore offices extending a segmented network to a desk pod, meeting room, reception counter or remote equipment position, and integrators who want VLAN-aware behaviour at the last hop rather than an unmanaged five-port box. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Compatibility & Software Support
The TL-SG105E is an Easy Smart switch, managed on its own through a web browser or TP-Link's Easy Smart Configuration Utility. It is not an Omada SDN device and cannot be adopted into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller. Where central controller management across gateways, switches and access points is required, ask us about the Omada JetStream smart and L2+ managed ranges instead.
| Omada SDN Controller | Not supported — this model cannot be adopted into an Omada Controller |
| Omada App / Omada Cloud Access | Not supported |
| Standalone Management | Supported — web-based GUI and Easy Smart Configuration Utility |
| Utility System Requirements | Microsoft Windows, for running the Easy Smart Configuration Utility |
| Hardware Versions Published | V1, V4, V5 (specifications above are as published on TP-Link's current product page) |

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-SG105E
What does the "E" in TL-SG105E mean?
It marks the Easy Smart version. The TL-SG105 is unmanaged; the TL-SG105E adds VLANs, QoS, IGMP snooping, link aggregation, port mirroring and cable diagnostics through a web interface.
Can it be adopted into an Omada Controller?
No. Omada Controller adoption is a feature of the Omada JetStream smart and managed ranges. Tell us how the site will be managed and we will recommend the right model.
Does it have PoE?
No. For four PoE+ ports in the same five-port format, ask us about the TL-SG105PE.
Can it carry a tagged voice VLAN to a desk phone?
Yes. It supports 802.1Q tag-based VLANs alongside port-based and MTU VLAN modes, up to 32 VLANs at once.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Local Singapore warranty, with a GST invoice supplied on every order. Contact us for the current warranty term on this model before you order.
