PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

TP-Link 5-Port 10/100/1000Mbps Desktop Switch (TL-SG105) - 5 Years Local Warranty

The TL-SG105 is a five-port Gigabit desktop switch in a compact 100 mm metal case, drawing just 2.3 W from a 5 V adapter. Unlike the most basic switches in this class it publishes IGMP Snooping and 802.1p/DSCP QoS, so multicast video and marked voice traffic are handled properly on a segment with no management at all.

Five Gigabit Ports in a 100 mm Footprint

Five 10/100/1000 Mbps ports with Auto-Negotiation and Auto-MDI/MDIX in a case measuring 100 x 98 x 25 mm — small enough to sit behind a monitor, inside AV furniture or in a wall box. Every port has its own Link/Act indicator built into the RJ45 housing, so a dead link is visible without a separate LED bank. Cabling is never a problem: straight and crossover leads both work.

IGMP Snooping and QoS on an Unmanaged Switch

IGMP Snooping keeps multicast streams on the ports that requested them rather than flooding all five, which matters wherever IPTV, signage players or AV-over-IP endpoints share a switch. 802.1p/DSCP QoS prioritises marked voice and video, and 802.3x flow control with a 1 Mb packet buffer absorbs short bursts. All of it is hardware behaviour — there is nothing to configure and nothing to break.

2.3 W Draw, Fanless, Steel Housing

TP-Link publishes a 2.3 W maximum consumption at 220 V/50 Hz and 7.83 BTU/h of heat, from an external 5 V DC / 0.6 A adapter. There is no fan, so the switch is completely silent and can live on a desk or in a meeting room without anyone noticing it. The metal housing helps in the semi-exposed positions a small switch usually ends up in.

7.4 Mpps Forwarding With 16 KB Jumbo Frames

The 7.4 Mpps packet forwarding rate is line rate across five Gigabit ports at minimum frame size, and jumbo frame support runs to 16 KB, which helps NAS and backup transfers. A 2K MAC address table is sized for the small segments this switch serves. Store-and-forward switching validates each frame before it is forwarded, so corrupted frames are discarded at the switch.

Ideal For

Singapore offices, meeting rooms, AV racks and home offices that need five reliable Gigabit ports in the smallest possible footprint, with multicast and QoS handling built in. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request — ask us to confirm current stock for this model.

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-SG105

Is this model still current?

TP-Link's product page marks the TL-SG105 as End of Life, so availability is limited to remaining stock. Ask SourceIT and we will confirm what we hold and quote the closest current model.

How does it differ from the TL-SG1005D?

Both are five-port Gigabit desktop switches. The TL-SG105 is the metal-cased model with a 100 mm square footprint, a 5 V adapter, and published IGMP Snooping and packet buffer figures. The TL-SG1005D is a wider 140 mm unit on a 9 V adapter with a different published spec set.

Does it supply PoE?

No. The TL-SG105 does not supply PoE on any port and is not itself PoE powered. For PoE, look at the TL-SG1005P or TL-SG105PE.

Can it be adopted into an Omada Controller?

No. It is unmanaged and has no management interface of any kind.

What warranty does SourceIT provide?

Five years local Singapore warranty, in line with TP-Link's replacement warranty policy for unmanaged Gigabit switches. Every unit sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
