PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link 10/100Mbps WDM Media Converter with 1-Port PoE (TL-FC111PB-20) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The TL-FC111PB-20 does two jobs at the far end of a fibre run: it converts single-mode fibre back to a 10/100 Mbps copper port, and it powers the device plugged into that port over 802.3af PoE. For a camera on a pole 20 km from the nearest switch room, that removes the need for a separate power source at the remote end.
Data and Power at the Far End of the Fibre
Ordinary media converters solve distance but leave the remote device needing mains power — which usually means an electrician, a weatherproof enclosure and a socket that someone must maintain. The TL-FC111PB-20's RJ45 port is a PoE port: TP-Link states its 802.3af PoE output makes remote camera deployment easier. The converter itself is fed from a 48 V/0.5 A supply, and passes power on to the connected device over the same cable that carries its data.
Twenty Kilometres on One Single-Mode Strand
This is a WDM unit: it transmits at 1310 nm and receives at 1550 nm, so both directions of the link share a single strand of 9/125 µm single-mode fibre rather than the usual pair. TP-Link publishes a reach of up to 20 km. On leased dark fibre, where cost scales with strand count, and on estate or campus runs where fibre is finite, halving the strands per link is often what makes the design affordable.
Made for Perimeter Cameras, Gates and Remote Panels
The combination of long reach, a single strand and PoE output is a security and building-services pattern: a camera at a perimeter fence, an intercom at a gate, a reader at a remote car park, a sensor gateway on a rooftop. The copper port is Auto MDI/MDIX 10/100 Mbps, which is all a single camera or panel needs, and the 0-50 °C operating range suits an unventilated enclosure better than a typical desktop switch would.
Order the Matching A Unit for the Head End
WDM converters are directional and sold individually. This unit transmits at 1310 nm and receives at 1550 nm, so the head end must do the reverse; TP-Link names the TL-FC111A-20 as a product that cooperates with the TL-FC111PB-20. Both ends must also share the same distance rating. Tell us how many remote points you are feeding and we will quote both ends of each link.
Ideal For
Singapore security and building-services integrators powering a remote camera, intercom or reader across a long fibre run, estate and campus operators connecting perimeter points, and IT teams who need data and power delivered by one box at the far end. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Specifications are reproduced from TP-Link's published TL-FC111PB-20 page. TP-Link does not publish a PoE power budget in watts, a maximum power consumption figure, a certification (Safety & Emission) row, an EAN or a carton pack size for this model. The 802.3af reference comes from TP-Link's product overview rather than the specification table. If your powered device is close to the 802.3af 15.4 W class limit, ask us to confirm the budget against the datasheet before you commit.
Compatibility & Software Support
The TL-FC111PB-20 is an unmanaged media converter with PoE output. It is a transparent copper-to-fibre bridge with no controller, no web interface and no configuration.
| Omada SDN Controller | Not supported — this model cannot be adopted into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller and does not appear in the controller as a managed device |
| Omada App | Not supported |
| Management | None — unmanaged, plug and play. Status is read from the PWR, Link/Act and PoE LEDs |
| Powered Devices | 802.3af-compliant devices such as IP cameras, access points, intercoms and readers. It cannot power an 802.3at or 802.3bt device that requires more than 802.3af supplies |
| Required Partner Unit | A WDM converter transmitting at 1550 nm and receiving at 1310 nm. TP-Link names the TL-FC111A-20 as a product that cooperates with this model |
| Fibre Plant | One strand of 9/125 micron single-mode fibre, SC connector, up to 20 km |

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-FC111PB-20
Does this converter take PoE in, or give PoE out?
Out. The converter is powered from its own 48 V supply and provides 802.3af PoE on its RJ45 port to the device connected to it — typically a camera or access point at the remote end of the fibre.
Will it power an 802.3at device?
TP-Link publishes 802.3af output for this model and does not publish a PoE budget in watts. Treat 802.3af as the limit, and ask us to confirm against the datasheet if your device is close to it.
Which unit goes at the head end?
One that transmits at 1550 nm and receives at 1310 nm. TP-Link names the TL-FC111A-20 as a product that cooperates with the TL-FC111PB-20.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty, under TP-Link's replacement warranty policy for media converters. Every TL-FC111PB-20 sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Is stock held locally?
Availability on this model is limited. Ask us to confirm current stock and lead time before you commit to a project date, and we can quote an equivalent current model if the timing does not work.
