TP-Link AXE5400 Mesh Wi-Fi 6E Range Extender (RE815XE) - 3 Years Local Warranty
The RE815XE is a tri-band Wi-Fi 6E wall-plug extender rated 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 2402 Mbps on 6 GHz, for a combined AXE5400 class. It has four external antennas, 160 MHz channel support, a Gigabit Ethernet port, and works as a range extender or access point within TP-Link OneMesh.
6 GHz Band for Wi-Fi 6E Clients
The 6 GHz band provides a clearer channel to avoid interference and congestion from neighbouring networks and older devices. It needs Wi-Fi 6E clients; TP-Link notes not all seven 160 MHz channels on 6 GHz may be available in some regions.
160 MHz Channel Bandwidth
160 MHz channels double the bandwidth of traditional 80 MHz channels, which is how the 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands each reach 2402 Mbps. Wi-Fi 6, 6E and HE160 features require client support.
OneMesh and Smart Roaming
The RE815XE is listed with TP-Link OneMesh mesh technology, forming a single network with compatible TP-Link routers; Smart Roaming keeps 802.11k/v clients on the best connection as you move between rooms.
Gigabit Port and Simple Setup
A Gigabit Ethernet port connects a wired device or provides a wired uplink in Access Point mode. Setup is by WPS button or the Tether app.

TP-Link notes the extender may not be compatible with routers or gateways running altered, open-source-based, non-standard or outdated firmware, and that actual speed may be limited by Ethernet port rate, cabling and ISP factors.

Do my devices need Wi-Fi 6E?
Only to use the 6 GHz band. Older Wi-Fi devices connect on 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz at their own standard.
Is it Wi-Fi 7?
No. The RE815XE is Wi-Fi 6E (802.11ax) across three bands. TP-Link's Wi-Fi 7 tri-band extender is the RE655BE.
Can it be wired back to the router?
Yes. Access Point is a listed working mode, using the Gigabit Ethernet port as the uplink.
