PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

TP-Link Pharos 2.4GHz 300Mbps 12dBi Outdoor CPE (CPE220) - 5 Years Local Warranty

The CPE220 is the high-power 2.4 GHz member of TP-Link's Pharos line: a built-in 12 dBi dual-polarized directional MIMO antenna with transmit power adjustable all the way to 30 dBm / 1000 mW, which TP-Link pairs with system-level optimizations for more than 13 km of wireless transmission. Where 5 GHz is blocked by foliage or partial obstruction, 2.4 GHz gets through.

2.4 GHz Where 5 GHz Cannot Reach

Operating across 2.4-2.483 GHz, the CPE220 exploits the physics that makes the lower band useful outdoors: longer wavelengths diffract further around obstacles and lose less to vegetation and rain than 5 GHz does. That makes it the sensible choice for a link through or past tree cover, over a partially obstructed path, or where the 5 GHz band is already congested with other links. The trade is a busier, noisier band - which is exactly what the narrow beam and MAXtream scheduling are there to manage.

1000 mW of Adjustable Transmit Power

Transmit power is adjustable from 0 to 30 dBm / 1000 mW in 1 dBm steps - the highest in TP-Link's Pharos CPE range, and roughly twice the output of the CPE210. Being adjustable matters as much as being high: on a short hop, turning power down reduces self-interference and keeps the link clean, while a long or marginal path can be given the full budget. Deployment must of course respect the local regulatory limit for the band.

12 dBi Directional Antenna With a 60° Beam

The built-in 12 dBi 2x2 dual-polarized directional antenna gives a 60° horizontal and 30° vertical pattern. That is a wide, forgiving beam - quick to align on a pole and capable of covering an arc of remote sites from a single base station, rather than serving one carefully aimed link. Wireless speeds reach 300 Mbps at 40 MHz, 144.4 Mbps at 20 MHz, and 72.2 and 36.1 Mbps on the narrow 10 and 5 MHz channels used to harden a link on a congested band.

Two Ports With PoE Passthrough and a Grounding Terminal

LAN0 takes passive PoE in; LAN1 passes PoE through to a second device, so a camera on the same mast runs off the same injector and the same cable. A dedicated grounding terminal is provided, which any mast-mounted radio in a lightning-prone climate should be using. The enclosure is outdoor ASA stabilized plastic - UV-stable over years on a roof - rated IPX5, with 15 kV ESD and 6 kV lightning protection, and an operating range of -30 to 70 °C.

MAXtream TDMA and Free Pharos Control Management

With MAXtream enabled the radio replaces 802.11b/g/n contention with TP-Link's proprietary TDMA scheduling, assigning airtime per station - the difference between a multipoint deployment that scales and one that collapses as sites are added. Management runs through the unit's HTTPS web interface or the free Pharos Control application, with SNMP v2c, SSH, system log, Ping Watch Dog and dynamic DDNS, plus a built-in spectrum analyzer and speed test for commissioning. Maximum power consumption is 10.8 W.

Ideal For

Singapore estates, plantations, worksites and marinas linking sites where trees or partial obstruction rule out 5 GHz, CCTV and access-control backhaul from remote gates, and multipoint deployments needing a wide, forgiving base-station beam. TP-Link lists the CPE220 as End of Sale, so availability is limited - ask SourceIT about current stock and the current generation. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Compatibility & Software Support

The CPE220 is a Pharos-series outdoor CPE. It runs TP-Link's PharOS firmware and is managed through its own web interface or the free Pharos Control application - it is not an Omada device and cannot be adopted into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller, so it will not appear in an Omada site view alongside Omada gateways, switches and access points.

Omada Controller Not supported — the CPE220 runs PharOS and is not adopted by an Omada Controller
Pharos Control Supported — free centralised discovery and remote management of Pharos devices
Standalone Management Supported — HTTP/HTTPS web interface, SSH, SNMP v2c, system log
PoE Passthrough LAN1 passes passive PoE through to a second device on the same mast
Band 2.4 GHz only — it will not link to a 5 GHz CPE such as the CPE510, CPE605, CPE610 or CPE710

Both ends of a link must be on the same band. Tell us the two sites and what is in the path and we will confirm whether 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz is the right choice before you order.

Frequently Asked Questions — CPE220

Should I use 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz for my link?

5 GHz gives more throughput and a cleaner band; 2.4 GHz diffracts better around obstacles and through foliage. If your path is not fully clear, or 5 GHz is already congested at the site, the CPE220 is the better bet. Send us the two locations and we will advise.

How does the CPE220 differ from the CPE210?

Antenna gain and power. The CPE220 has a 12 dBi antenna with a 60° beam at up to 30 dBm / 1000 mW and a 276 mm body; the CPE210 has a 9 dBi antenna with a 65° beam at up to 27 dBm / 500 mW in a 224 mm body. Both are 2.4 GHz, 300 Mbps, with PoE passthrough.

Can I manage it from my Omada Controller?

No. The CPE220 runs PharOS and is managed through its own web interface or the free Pharos Control application.

What warranty does SourceIT provide?

Five years local Singapore warranty — Pharos Outdoor CPE sits in TP-Link's five-year replacement tier. Every CPE220 sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.

Can SourceIT quote this for a project or tender?

Yes. Send the bill of materials and we will quote the whole build — bridge pair, mounting, surge protection, switching and the Omada network behind it — with local warranty and support.
