The EAP115-Bridge KIT is the economical member of Omada's point-to-point bridge range: two pre-paired 5 GHz units with 11 dBi directional antennas, an IP65 enclosure and a published maximum transmission distance of 5 km. It runs 802.11n at up to 300 Mbps over three 10/100 Mbps ports, drawing just 6.5 W. It is the low-throughput sibling of the AC867 EAP215-Bridge KIT.

A 5 km Point-to-Point Link Without Trenching

Omada publishes a maximum transmission distance of 3.1 mi (5 km) for the kit, which covers the realistic inter-building cases on a Singapore site: a second block, a warehouse across the yard, a guardhouse, a jetty office or a temporary site cabin. Supplied as a matched pair, the kit removes the risk of mismatching the two ends. Because nothing has to be dug, a link can be commissioned in an afternoon rather than waiting on civil works and permits.

11 dBi Directional Antennas With a 35 x 35 Degree Beam

Both units use 11.0 dBi directional antennas with a 35-degree beamwidth vertically and horizontally. The narrow beam is what turns a modest radio into a kilometre-scale link: transmit energy is focused along the path instead of being radiated across the whole site, so the far end sees a stronger signal and picks up less interference from unrelated 5 GHz equipment nearby. In return, both ends need clear line of sight and a rigid mount that will not drift out of alignment.

300 Mbps Over Three 10/100 Mbps Ports

The radio is 802.11n at 5 GHz with a maximum wireless speed of N300, and the unit provides three 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports. This is the honest trade the kit makes: it is sized for CCTV backhaul, door controllers, a handful of office users, point-of-sale terminals or telemetry, not for moving large files between two sites. Where the remote building needs Gigabit-class throughput, the AC867 EAP215-Bridge KIT with three Gigabit ports is the correct choice.

IP65, 6 kV Lightning Protection and Wind Resistance

The enclosure is IP65 rated and operates from -40 to 70 degrees Celsius, with wind resistance and 6 kV lightning protection published for the kit. Those last two matter in Singapore, where a rooftop or pole-mounted radio faces both squalls and frequent lightning activity. Pole-mounting accessories are supplied in the box and wall mounting is available as an option, so the unit can go on a mast, a parapet or an exterior wall depending on what the path needs.

One Cable to the Mast at 6.5 W

Power is 12 V DC or 24 V passive PoE, and the passive PoE adapter is included, so a single Ethernet run carries both data and power to the radio and only one penetration has to be weatherproofed. Maximum power consumption is 6.5 W per unit, low enough that a modest UPS at the head end keeps an inter-building link alive through a power interruption, which is exactly when a remote camera or access-control feed matters most.
