PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link Omada Pro 24-Port 2.5G Stackable L3 Managed Switch with 4 25G Slots (S6500-24M4Y) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The S6500-24M4Y is the non-PoE model of TP-Link's Omada Pro S6500 campus line: 24 × 2.5G RJ45 ports, four 25G SFP28 uplinks, 320 Gbps per unit, 12-unit stacking and a full L3 routing stack, in a 1U chassis with hot-swappable fans and two power-supply bays (one PSM550-AC fitted as standard).
24 × 2.5G Ports and 4 × 25G SFP28 Uplinks
Twenty-four 100 Mbps/1 Gbps/2.5 Gbps RJ45 ports suit multi-gigabit desktops, servers and downstream PoE switches, while four 1/10/25G SFP28 slots provide the uplink and stacking capacity. Each unit delivers 320 Gbps switching capacity and 238.1 Mpps forwarding, with a 32 K MAC table and 9 KB jumbo frames.
Stack Up to 12 Units at Up to 200 Gbps
Up to 12 S6500 units can be physically stacked (in standalone mode) for up to 200 Gbps stacking bandwidth over four stacking ports, so a whole floor or building block is managed and protected as one logical switch. TP-Link notes the 25G slots stack only through 25G DAC or 25G SFP28 modules, not 10G DAC or 10G SFP+ modules.
Full L3 Routing: OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, VRF, VRRP, ECMP and PBR
The S6500 carries the complete routing set expected at the distribution layer: OSPFv2/v3, BGPv4, IS-IS, RIP/RIPng, VRF, VRRP (up to 64 instances), PIM-SM/DM/SSM, ECMP with up to 32 next-hops, PBR and uRPF, with 10,240 IPv4 network routes. BFD enables sub-second failure detection and ERPS provides rapid recovery in ring topologies.
Redundant, Field-Replaceable Power and Fans
Two hot-swappable power supply bays support N+1 redundancy. The switch ships with one PSM550-AC module; the second, for redundancy, is a separate purchase. Four field-replaceable, hot-swappable fans complete the serviceable design, and TP-Link rates MTBF at 332,217 hours at 25 °C.
MACsec, Secure Boot and RADSEC
Alongside 802.1X, ACLs, DHCP Snooping, ARP Inspection and IP Source Guard, the S6500 adds MACsec (GCM-AES-128/256) link encryption, Secure Boot and RADSEC — features usually reserved for higher-tier enterprise switching.
Managed Through Omada Pro
This is an Omada Pro switch: TP-Link lists the Omada Pro Cloud-Based, Hardware and Software Controllers for centralised management, with Zero-Touch Provisioning requiring the Omada Pro Cloud-Based Controller. It can also be configured via NETCONF, the web GUI or the CLI.
Ideal For
Campus distribution and aggregation in schools, hospitals and corporate buildings, multi-gigabit server or workstation access, and as a stackable L3 core for mid-sized Omada Pro deployments. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Notes
* Ships with one PSM550-AC module by default; another field-replaceable redundant power supply requires a separate purchase.
No more than two 10G RJ45/SFP+ modules (SM5310-T) are supported, and they can only be inserted into SFP+ slots 25 & 27.
The 25G SFP28 slots support stacking only through 25G DAC/25G SFP28 modules rather than 10G DAC/10G SFP+ modules.
12-unit physical stacking is supported in standalone mode. Controller functions require the Omada Pro SDN Controller; Zero-Touch Provisioning requires the Omada Pro Cloud-Based Controller.
Compatibility & Software Support
The S6500-24M4Y is an Omada Pro switch. TP-Link lists the Omada Pro controller family for its centralised management, so plan it into an Omada Pro deployment rather than a standard Omada SDN controller site. Cloud, app and Zero-Touch Provisioning features require adoption into an Omada Pro Controller.

Frequently Asked Questions — S6500-24M4Y
Does the S6500-24M4Y need a controller?
No. It can be run standalone through its web interface, CLI or NETCONF. Centralised configuration, monitoring, cloud and app access, and Zero-Touch Provisioning come from adopting it into an Omada Pro Controller (Cloud-Based, Hardware or Software); Zero-Touch Provisioning specifically requires the Omada Pro Cloud-Based Controller.
Does the S6500-24M4Y ship with redundant power?
It has two hot-swappable power supply bays but ships with one PSM550-AC. For N+1 redundancy add a second PSM550-AC, purchased separately — SourceIT can quote it on the same order.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty. Every S6500-24M4Y sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Is stock held locally?
SourceIT holds fast-moving Omada lines in Singapore. Anything not in local stock is brought in on indent — ask us for the current lead time before committing to a project date.
Is this model available for project orders?
Yes. TP-Link supplies this model for project deployments; contact SourceIT with your bill of materials for pricing and lead time.
Can SourceIT quote this for a project or tender?
Yes. Send the bill of materials and we will quote the whole Omada build — controller, gateway, switching, access points and optics — with local warranty and support.
