PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link JetStream 24-Port Gigabit L2 Managed Switch with 4 SFP Slots (TL-SG3428) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The TL-SG3428 is the long-running non-PoE member of the JetStream 24-port family: 24 Gigabit copper ports, four Gigabit SFP uplinks, a fanless 440 x 180 mm chassis and a 56 Gbps fabric. It is a quiet, low-draw managed switch for desks, servers and printers, with static routing and a full security stack on board.
Twenty-Four Gigabit Ports and Four SFP Uplinks
Twenty-four 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports handle a floor's worth of wired endpoints, and four Gigabit SFP slots provide the uplinks. Fibre matters here less for headline throughput than for distance and electrical isolation — it lets the switch sit in a riser, an annexe or a separate building and still terminate cleanly at the core. The slots can also be aggregated or split across two upstream switches for a redundant path.
Fanless, Shallow and Low-Draw
There are no fans, so the switch makes no noise and has no moving part to fail, and the chassis is 180 mm deep rather than the 330 mm of a PoE switch — it fits a shallow wall cabinet or a cupboard shelf as easily as a rack. Power draw is modest at a maximum of 19.22 W on hardware V1 (110 V/60 Hz) and 19.9 W on V2 (220 V/50 Hz), which keeps both the electricity bill and the heat load negligible.
56 Gbps Fabric With a 12 Mbit Buffer
The 56 Gbps switching capacity accounts for all 28 ports running full duplex simultaneously, and a 41.66 Mpps forwarding rate sustains line rate at minimum frame sizes. A 12 Mbit packet buffer absorbs bursts from backups and large file transfers, and 9 KB jumbo frames suit storage traffic. The MAC address table is 8 K on hardware V1 and 16 K on V2 and above — check the hardware revision if the deployment is MAC-dense.
Static Routing, 4K VLANs and QinQ
The switch supports 16 IPv4/IPv6 interfaces, 48 static routes, static ARP and 512 ARP entries, Proxy ARP, a DHCP Server, DHCP Relay and DHCP L2 Relay, so inter-VLAN traffic can be routed locally instead of hairpinning to the gateway. Up to 4K 802.1Q VLAN groups are available with MAC VLAN, Protocol VLAN, QinQ and Voice VLAN. QoS classifies by 802.1p CoS or DSCP into eight priority queues, scheduled SP, WRR or SP+WRR, with bandwidth control and per-flow actions.
Full ACL Suite, 802.1X and Dual-Stack IPv6
Access control covers time-based, MAC, IP, IPv6, combined and packet-content ACLs with policy options. Security includes IP-MAC-Port Binding, DoS Defend, Port Security, Storm Control, Port Isolation, 802.1X and AAA with TACACS+, and management traffic is protected with HTTPS/SSL and SSH. The switch runs a dual IPv4/IPv6 stack with MLD Snooping, IPv6 ACLs, DHCPv6 Snooping, IPv6 interfaces, neighbour discovery and PMTU discovery.
Managed Centrally Through Omada SDN
The TL-SG3428 is adopted by the Omada Cloud-Based Controller, the Omada Software Controller or an OC200/OC300 hardware controller, where it appears alongside your gateways and access points under one set of policies. Central features include automatic device discovery, batch configuration, batch firmware upgrading, intelligent network monitoring, reboot scheduling and Zero-Touch Provisioning. SNMP v1/v2c/v3, RMON and dual image support cover existing NMS workflows.
Ideal For
Singapore offices, schools and managed-service providers that need a quiet, non-PoE managed switch for wired endpoints on an Omada or JetStream network. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Compatibility & Software Support
The TL-SG3428 is part of the Omada ecosystem: gateways, switches and access points are managed together from one controller, under one set of policies, with one view of the network. Cloud and app features listed below require the device to be adopted into an Omada Controller.
| Omada SDN Controller | Supported — Omada Cloud-Based Controller, Omada Software Controller, or the OC200 / OC300 Hardware Controller |
| Omada App | Supported — requires an Omada Controller |
| Zero-Touch Provisioning | Supported |
| PoE | Not supported on this model — the switch does not power connected devices |
| Standalone Mode | Supported — web GUI, or CLI via the console port |

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-SG3428
Does the TL-SG3428 supply PoE?
No. It has no PoE on any port. The SG3428MP is the equivalent model with 24 PoE+ ports and a 384 W budget.
What is the difference between the TL-SG3428 and the SG3428?
TP-Link lists the SG3428 as the newer version of this model. Ask SourceIT which is currently available for your project and we will quote the right one.
Does the hardware version matter?
For most deployments, no. The published difference is the MAC address table — 8 K on V1 and 16 K on V2 and above — along with a small difference in rated power draw. Tell us if your environment is MAC-dense and we will confirm the revision being supplied.
Does it need an Omada Controller?
No. It runs standalone through its own web GUI or CLI. Adopting it into an Omada Controller is what unlocks central configuration, monitoring, firmware management and cloud/app access across every Omada device on site — at no licence cost.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty. Every TL-SG3428 sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
