The DS-P7001-16 is the largest of TP-Link's DeltaStream pizza-box GPON OLTs: sixteen GPON ports in a 1U chassis, serving up to 2,048 ONTs at a 1:128 split, with four 10G SFP+ uplinks, two Gigabit RJ45 uplinks and dual hot-swappable power supplies. It is built for high-density fibre deployments — large residential estates, hospitality, campuses and service-provider access networks.

Sixteen GPON Ports Serving Up to 2,048 ONTs

Each GPON port runs 2.5 Gbps downstream and 1.25 Gbps upstream on 1490/1310 nm wavelengths, with Class C+ optics and SC/UPC interfaces on single-mode fibre. At the maximum 1:128 split per port, one 1U unit addresses up to 2,048 ONTs — four times the 4-port model — which keeps rack space, power and management overhead low at scale.

Four 10G SFP+ and Two Gigabit RJ45 Uplinks

The DS-P7001-16 provides 4× 10 Gbps SFP+ uplink ports and 2× 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 uplink ports, giving the bandwidth to backhaul sixteen PON trees and options for link redundancy towards the core. RJ45 console and RJ45 management ports keep administration out-of-band, and an alarm port is provided.

Dual Hot-Swappable Power — AC, DC or Mixed

Two hot-swappable power supplies can be fitted as 2 AC, 2 DC or AC+DC, accepting AC 100–240 V 50/60 Hz and DC -38.4 V to -72 V. That gives carrier-class resilience: a failed module can be swapped with subscribers still online, and the OLT can be fed from separate mains and DC plants. Maximum power consumption is 103 W.

ONU Security, Multi-Service QoS and L2/L2+ Features

Standard OMCI management, ONU auto authentication, rogue ONU detection and isolation, and uplink/downlink data encryption secure the PON. Switching features include ACL, 802.1X, ARP inspection, IP Source Guard, DHCP server and relay, 802.1p/DSCP QoS with Voice VLAN and Auto VoIP, multi-service traffic identification and rate limiting, static routing, and IGMP/MLD snooping for IPTV and multicast services.

Centralised Management via DPMS, SNMP, CLI and Web UI

TP-Link specifies management through the DeltaStream PON Management System (DPMS), SNMP, CLI and Web UI, with large-scale device management, batch OLT configure/upgrade/reboot, multi-site management, intelligent network monitoring and a real-time network overview — the tooling needed to run many OLTs and thousands of ONTs from one place.
