PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link Omada BE5000 Indoor/Outdoor Wi-Fi 7 Access Point with Directional/Omnidirectional Antennas (EAP725-Outdoor) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The EAP725-Outdoor is Omada's BE5000 dual-band Wi-Fi 7 outdoor access point, and its defining feature is choice of coverage pattern. It carries both internal high-gain directional antennas and external omnidirectional antennas, with the mode switchable in software, so one SKU can light up a car park, a courtyard or a long building frontage. A 2.5G PoE+ uplink, IP66 enclosure and 6 kV lightning protection make it a single-cable outdoor deployment.
Switchable Directional and Omnidirectional Coverage
TP-Link describes the EAP725-Outdoor as supporting "focused point coverage or wide-area outdoor coverage by switching antenna modes on software". The internal directional array is 2 × 8.3 dBi at 2.4 GHz (90° beamwidth) and 2 × 13.2 dBi at 5 GHz (45° beamwidth); the external omni set is 2 × 4.5 dBi at 2.4 GHz and 2 × 5.3 dBi at 5 GHz. Plug & Play antenna detection notices when the external antennas are fitted and adjusts the coverage pattern automatically. TP-Link notes that switching antenna modes via an Omada Controller requires controller version 6.1 or above.
Recommended Coverage of 300 m² Omni or 510 m² Directional
TP-Link publishes recommended coverage of 3,229 ft² (300 m²) in omnidirectional mode and 5,500 ft² (510 m²) in directional mode. That lets a planner use the same model to blanket an open area or to throw signal along a corridor, loading bay or pitch side, rather than stocking two different outdoor APs.
4-Stream Wi-Fi 7 at up to 5 Gbps
The radios run 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz and 4324 Mbps on 5 GHz across four streams, with Wi-Fi 7 features including 4K-QAM, OFDMA and Multi-Link Operation (MLO). As TP-Link notes, Wi-Fi 7 and Wi-Fi 6 features such as MLO, 4K-QAM and OFDMA require clients that also support them; older devices still connect at their own standard.
One 2.5G PoE+ Cable for Power and Data
A single 10M/100M/1000M/2.5Gbps RJ45 port takes 802.3at PoE, with a maximum draw of 18.4 W. The 2.5G uplink means the wired side is not capped at Gigabit, and one cable run to a PoE+ switch port is all the install needs — no outdoor power outlet.
Built for Outdoor Duty
The enclosure is IP66 weatherproof with 6 kV lightning protection, rated for -30 to 70 °C operation, and ships with pole and wall mounting kits. BLE 5.2 is built in.
Omada SDN Management and Security
The AP supports 16 SSIDs (8 per band), SSID-to-VLAN mapping, WPA3-Personal/Enterprise and OWE, 802.1X, rogue AP detection and client isolation. Under an Omada controller it adds Omada Mesh, 802.11k/v/r seamless roaming, captive portal and cloud access; Zero-Touch Provisioning is available with the Omada Cloud-Based Controller.
Ideal For
Outdoor coverage at Singapore condominiums, schools, hotels, campuses, car parks, warehouse yards and F&B outdoor seating — especially sites that need either wide-area or focused directional coverage from the same model, managed alongside an existing Omada network. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Maximum wireless signal rates are physical rates derived from IEEE 802.11; coverage is calculated from TP-Link laboratory testing and will vary with environment and clients. Switching antenna modes via an Omada Controller requires version 6.1 or above.
Compatibility & Software Support
The EAP725-Outdoor is part of the Omada ecosystem: gateways, switches and access points are managed together from one controller, under one set of policies, with one view of the network. TP-Link notes that Omada Mesh, Seamless Roaming, Captive Portal and Cloud Access require an Omada controller. Switching between directional and omnidirectional antenna modes from a controller requires Omada Controller version 6.1 or above.

Frequently Asked Questions — EAP725-Outdoor
Does the EAP725-Outdoor need an Omada Controller?
No. It can be managed on its own through its web interface or the Omada App. Adopting it into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller adds central configuration, Omada Mesh, seamless roaming, captive portal and cloud access — and controller version 6.1 or above is needed to switch antenna modes from the controller.
How do the two antenna modes work?
The directional antennas are internal. TP-Link describes Plug & Play automatic antenna detection: when the external omnidirectional antennas are installed, the AP detects them and adjusts its coverage pattern accordingly, and the mode can also be switched in software.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
