TP-Link Omada BE5000 4-Stream Ceiling Mount Dual-Band Wi-Fi 7 Access Point
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link Omada BE5000 4-Stream Ceiling Mount Dual-Band Wi-Fi 7 Access Point (EAP723) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The EAP723 is Omada's BE5000 dual-band Wi-Fi 7 ceiling access point — the accessible entry into Wi-Fi 7 in the range. It brings MLO and 4K-QAM to 2.4 and 5 GHz without the 6 GHz radio or 10G uplink of the tri-band EAP787, pairing a 4-stream radio set with a 2.5G 802.3at PoE+ port and a modest 17.8 W draw.
BE5000 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 7 in a 4-Stream Ceiling AP
The EAP723 delivers 4324 Mbps on 5 GHz and 688 Mbps on 2.4 GHz for a combined 5.0 Gbps. It is a dual-band design, so it forgoes the 6 GHz radio of tri-band Wi-Fi 7 models and concentrates its capacity where the bulk of existing client devices already live. Omada supports 240 MHz bandwidth on 5 GHz alongside the usual 160 MHz, which allows more simultaneous transmissions than a conventional Wi-Fi 6 AP can manage in the same spectrum.
Multi-Link Operation Across 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz
Multi-Link Operation lets a Wi-Fi 7 client hold simultaneous connections on the 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz radios rather than committing to one. Traffic can be carried on both links or shifted away from whichever has become congested, which raises reliability and reduces latency spikes. Even without a 6 GHz radio to add to the mix, MLO is what keeps a session stable when the 5 GHz channel is busy — the client does not have to wait for a roam or a band-steer decision to find usable airtime.
4K-QAM Adds About 20% More Throughput Per Transmission
Wi-Fi 7's 4096-QAM encodes 12 bits per symbol against Wi-Fi 6's 10, which Omada describes as enabling roughly 20% more data transmission. The gain applies to clients with a good signal-to-noise ratio, so it is most visible in the open-plan offices, classrooms and retail floors where a ceiling-mounted AP has clear line of sight to devices. It is a straightforward efficiency win: the same airtime carries more payload, so contention for the channel drops as client counts rise.
2.5G PoE+ Port on a Single Cable at Under 18 Watts
A 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port gives the AP a wired uplink that is not capped at Gigabit, so a busy 5 GHz radio is not squeezed by the cable behind it. Power comes over the same cable via 802.3at PoE+, with a maximum draw of 17.8 W on PoE or 14.0 W on DC. That is a modest enough budget that a standard PoE+ switch can power a floor's worth of these access points without a PoE budget calculation becoming the deciding factor in the switch you buy.
250+ Clients, Omada Mesh and Seamless Roaming
Omada rates the EAP723 for 250+ concurrent clients over roughly 140 m² (1500 ft²), which places it in mainstream office, classroom and hospitality density rather than stadium-scale deployment. Omada Mesh allows access points to link wirelessly where running cable is impractical, self-organising and self-healing as the topology changes, and seamless roaming hands clients between APs mid-session so voice calls and video streams survive a walk across the floor.
16 SSIDs, WPA3 and Centralised Omada SDN Management
The EAP723 supports secure guest networking with up to 16 SSIDs, SMS-based portal login, WPA3 to encrypt otherwise-open public networks, and rogue AP detection to flag unauthorised transmitters on site. It slots into Omada SDN alongside Omada switches and gateways, managed through a cloud-based controller, a hardware controller such as the OC220, or the software controller — so one interface provisions, monitors and updates the whole estate rather than each device being configured on its own.
Ideal For
Singapore businesses, schools, hotels and managed-service providers building on Omada, and IT teams that want a router they can adopt, monitor and update centrally rather than box by box. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Frequently Asked Questions — EAP723
Does the EAP723 need an Omada Controller?
No. The EAP723 runs standalone through its own web interface. Adopting it into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller is what unlocks central configuration, monitoring, firmware management and cloud/app access across every Omada device on site — at no licence cost.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty. Every EAP723 sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Is stock held locally?
SourceIT holds fast-moving Omada lines in Singapore. Anything not in local stock is brought in on indent — ask us for the current lead time before committing to a project date.
Can SourceIT quote this for a project or tender?
Yes. Send the bill of materials and we will quote the whole Omada build — controller, gateway, switching, access points and optics — with local warranty and support.
