The EAP670 is Omada's AX5400 dual-band Wi-Fi 6 ceiling access point: 4804 Mbps on 5 GHz, 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, HE160 channel width and a 2.5 Gigabit PoE+ uplink. Unlike most APs in the range it ships with a power adapter in the box, so it can be deployed where a PoE switch port is not available.

AX5400 Across Two Radios With Four 5 GHz Streams

The EAP670 delivers up to 4804 Mbps on 5 GHz through four 5 dBi internal antennas and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz through two 4 dBi antennas. Four spatial streams on the busy band mean MU-MIMO can serve multiple clients in the same transmission window rather than in sequence, which is what holds throughput up in a meeting room or classroom. Omada rates the unit for 250+ concurrent clients.

2.5 Gigabit PoE+ Port, Power Adapter Included

The uplink is a single 2.5 Gigabit RJ-45 port supporting 802.3at PoE, so one cable carries data and power and the wired side never caps the radios. Maximum draw is 18.1 W on the EU model and 19.8 W on the US model. Unusually for this range, a 12V/1.5A power adapter is supplied in the box, which makes the EAP670 the straightforward option for a retrofit where the nearest switch has no PoE budget left.

HE160 and OFDMA Keep Latency Down Under Load

HE160 gives the EAP670 160 MHz channels on 5 GHz where the spectrum allows, doubling channel width against a standard 80 MHz plan. OFDMA is the companion feature that matters more in practice: it divides each channel into resource units so many small client transmissions are served together instead of queueing. Alongside 1024-QAM, MU-MIMO, band steering, load balancing, airtime fairness and beamforming, that is what makes a busy room feel responsive.

Omada Mesh and Seamless Roaming Across a Site

Omada Mesh lets an EAP670 join the network over the air where a cable run is impractical — across a courtyard, into a heritage building, or in a temporary fit-out — while seamless roaming hands clients between access points without dropping voice or video calls. Up to 16 SSIDs are available for separating corporate, guest, IoT and voice traffic, and ceiling and wall mounting kits are included.

Zero-Touch Provisioning Under Omada SDN

Adopted into an Omada Cloud-Based, Hardware or Software Controller, the EAP670 is configured, monitored and updated alongside every other Omada gateway, switch and AP on site, with no licence fee for cloud access. Zero-Touch Provisioning through the Cloud-Based Controller lets a unit be shipped straight to a branch and brought up remotely. WPA3, WPA2 and WPA Personal and Enterprise, 802.1X, captive portal, MAC filtering, SSID-to-VLAN mapping and rogue AP detection cover security.
