The EAP660 HD is Omada's high-density Wi-Fi 6 ceiling access point, rated by TP-Link for 1,000+ concurrent clients — the highest client count in the Wi-Fi 6 ceiling range. It pairs 4x4 MIMO on both bands with a 2.5 Gbps uplink, and is aimed squarely at halls, lecture theatres and event spaces where client numbers, not raw speed, are the constraint.

Built for 1,000+ Concurrent Clients

Client capacity is what sets the EAP660 HD apart. TP-Link rates it for more than 1,000 concurrent clients, against 250+ for the mainstream EAP6xx models. It gets there with 4x4 MIMO on both radios — four 4 dBi antennas on 2.4 GHz and four 5 dBi on 5 GHz — so more spatial streams are available to spread a crowd across, and with OFDMA scheduling that packs many small transmissions into each airtime slot instead of queueing them.

AX3600 Split Across Both Bands

The EAP660 HD delivers up to 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 1148 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. That 2.4 GHz figure is notably high for a Wi-Fi 6 AP and is deliberate: in a packed hall a large share of devices still land on 2.4 GHz, so four streams there keeps the slower band from becoming the bottleneck. 1024-QAM and the 4x longer OFDM symbol lift per-client throughput and resilience across both radios.

2.5 Gbps Uplink on 802.3at PoE

The uplink is a single 2.5 Gbps Ethernet port supporting 802.3at PoE, so one cable carries data and power to a ceiling position and the wired side has headroom above a Gigabit port. Maximum draw is 18.5 W on the EU model and 21.5 W on the US model, and 12V DC is available as an alternative. A power adapter is included in the box along with ceiling and wall mounting kits.

Multi-Site, L3 and Zero-Touch Management

Under an Omada Cloud-Based Controller, OC300, OC200 or the Omada Software Controller, the EAP660 HD supports multi-site management, L3 management and a management VLAN, so one console can cover several venues. Zero-Touch Provisioning through the Cloud-Based Controller lets a unit be shipped to site and brought up remotely. SNMP v1/v2c/v3, SSH, HTTPS, local and remote syslog and email alerts support integration with existing monitoring tools.

WPA3, Captive Portal and Guest Segmentation

Security covers WPA3, WPA2 and WPA Personal and Enterprise with 802.1X, captive portal authentication for guest onboarding, SSID-to-VLAN mapping, wireless MAC address filtering, client isolation and rogue AP detection. Up to 16 SSIDs are available, eight per band — enough to separate corporate, guest, IoT and voice traffic on the same access point under one set of controller policies.
