TP-Link Omada AX3000 Wall-Plate Wi-Fi 6 Access Point with 1 Gigabit Downlink Port
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link Omada AX3000 Wall Plate WiFi 6 Access Point (EAP650-Wall) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The EAP650-Wall fits AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 into an 86 x 86 mm faceplate — the footprint of a standard wall socket. It delivers 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, adds a Gigabit downlink port for a wired device in the same room, and runs from 802.3af PoE over the single uplink cable.
Socket-Sized, With Full AX3000 Radios Inside
The appeal of this model is the form factor. At 86 x 86 x 42.2 mm it sits in the space a wall outlet already occupies, which matters in a hotel room, a serviced apartment or a heritage building where a ceiling AP would be visually or structurally awkward. Inside is a genuine AX3000 dual-band radio set — 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz, 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz — with two dual-band antennas rated 2x 3 dBi on 2.4 GHz and 3x 5 dBi on 5 GHz.
A Wired Port Where the Guest Actually Sits
One Gigabit downlink port emerges from the faceplate alongside the wireless service. That port is for the device that must be wired — a smart TV, a set-top box, a desk phone or a docking station — and it removes the need for a second cable run to the same wall position. The uplink is a separate Gigabit port, so the unit behaves as a small switch as well as an access point, feeding both the radio and the wired device from one drop back to the comms room.
A Small, Strong Cell Per Room
Coverage is rated at 40 m² (450 ft²) with 100+ concurrent clients — deliberately modest, because a wall-plate AP is meant to serve one room properly rather than several rooms badly. In per-room deployments that is the whole design argument: a guest gets a close, strong signal and their own airtime, while neighbouring rooms suffer far less co-channel interference than they would under a corridor-mounted AP pushing through walls. Up to 16 SSIDs, seamless roaming, Omada Mesh, band steering and load balancing still operate across the building.
Runs From 802.3af PoE — No Socket Needed
The EAP650-Wall draws a maximum of 10.5 W on EU units and is powered by 802.3af PoE from the uplink switch. 802.3af is the lower-power PoE standard, so an existing af-only switch can feed these units without upgrading to at or bt. The practical result is one Cat-cable per room and no electrical work behind the faceplate.
WPA3, Captive Portal and Omada Central Management
Security covers WPA3, WPA2 and WPA Personal and Enterprise modes, 802.1X, captive portal authentication for guest onboarding, MAC filtering, client isolation, VLAN mapping and rogue AP detection. Adopted into an Omada Controller — Cloud-Based, Hardware or Software — every unit in the building is configured, monitored and firmware-updated from a single console, with email alerts, SNMP, syslog and multi-site management for operators running more than one property.
Ideal For
Singapore hotels, serviced apartments, student housing, clinics and cellular offices where the access point must disappear into the wall and one room needs both Wi-Fi and a wired port. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Compatibility & Software Support
The EAP650-Wall is part of the Omada ecosystem: gateways, switches and access points are managed together from one controller, under one set of policies, with one view of the network. Cloud and app features listed below require the device to be adopted into an Omada Controller.
| Omada SDN Controller | Supported — adopt and manage centrally from the Omada Software Controller, Hardware Controller or Cloud-Based Controller |
| Omada App | Supported — remote management from iOS and Android |
| Omada Cloud Access | Supported — no licence fee for cloud management |
| Omada Mesh | Supported — wireless uplink where cabling is impractical |
| Standalone Mode | Supported — the device can also be configured on its own via its web interface |

Frequently Asked Questions — EAP650-Wall
How does the EAP650-Wall differ from the EAP655-Wall?
Both are officially named AX3000 Wall Plate WiFi 6 Access Point and share the same 2402/574 Mbps radios. The EAP650-Wall is the compact 86 x 86 x 42.2 mm socket-sized unit with one Gigabit downlink port, 802.3af power, and 40 m² / 100+ client ratings. The EAP655-Wall is a larger 143 x 86 x 42.6 mm unit with three Gigabit downlink ports including PoE out, 802.3af/at power, and 50 m² / 120+ client ratings.
Does it need an 802.3at switch?
No. The EAP650-Wall is specified for 802.3af PoE and draws a maximum of 10.5 W on EU units, so an existing 802.3af switch port is sufficient.
Does the EAP650-Wall need an Omada Controller?
No. It runs standalone through its own web interface. Adopting it into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller is what unlocks central configuration, seamless roaming, firmware management and cloud/app access across every Omada device on site — at no licence cost.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty. Every EAP650-Wall sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Can SourceIT quote this for a project or tender?
Yes. Send the bill of materials and we will quote the whole Omada build — controller, gateway, switching, access points and optics — with local warranty and support.
