It is the model to specify when an outdoor area needs the same Wi-Fi 6 throughput as the office inside, not a reduced-capability perimeter AP.

IP67 Sealing Rated From -30 to 70 °C

IP67 means the enclosure is fully dust-tight and withstands temporary immersion — the relevant standard for an access point mounted on a pole in a Singapore downpour. The rated operating range runs from -30 °C to 70 °C, so the practical concern locally is heat and humidity rather than cold: full sun on a metal pole, monsoon rain, and 10-90% non-condensing humidity are all within specification. Pole and wall mounting kits are included in the box.

Full AX3000 Throughput Outdoors

This is a genuine AX3000 access point rather than a downrated outdoor variant: 802.11ax rates run to 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, with 2.4 GHz antennas at 2x 4 dBi and 5 GHz at 2x 5 dBi. 1024-QAM, OFDMA and MU-MIMO are all present, and CE transmission power reaches 30 dBm on 5 GHz — the higher ceiling outdoor spectrum rules allow, which is what turns the rated throughput into usable coverage across a car park, courtyard or worksite.

250+ Concurrent Clients With Roaming and Mesh

The EAP650-Outdoor is rated for 250+ concurrent clients and supports up to 16 SSIDs, 8 per band. Omada Mesh is particularly useful outdoors, where trenching for a cable to a far corner of a site is expensive or simply not permitted: a mesh node takes its uplink wirelessly from a wired neighbour. Seamless roaming, band steering, load balancing and airtime fairness carry over from the indoor range, so an outdoor area behaves as part of the same wireless network rather than a separate one.

PoE Adapter Included in the Box

Unlike most indoor Omada APs, the EAP650-Outdoor ships with a passive PoE adapter and power cord, along with mounting kits and an installation guide. It also accepts 802.3at PoE from a switch, drawing a maximum of 12.5 W on EU units and 14.7 W on US units. That matters outdoors, where the nearest switch is often indoors and a long run with an injector at the indoor end is the practical arrangement.

WPA3 and Central Management Under Omada SDN

Security covers WPA3-Personal and WPA3-Enterprise, WPA2, 802.1X, captive portal authentication, MAC filtering, client isolation, SSID-to-VLAN mapping and rogue AP detection — the last being worth having on a perimeter AP that is physically accessible. Adopted into an Omada Controller (Cloud-Based, OC300, OC200 or Software), the unit is configured, monitored and firmware-updated with the rest of the network, with L3 and multi-site management and Zero-Touch Provisioning available.
