Omada rates the EAP650-Desktop for 250+ concurrent clients, and the mechanisms behind that figure matter more than the number. OFDMA subdivides each channel into resource units so the AP can service several small transmissions inside one airtime slot instead of queuing them one behind another, which is exactly the traffic pattern of a room full of phones and handhelds. Uplink and downlink MU-MIMO let the radio talk to multiple spatial streams at once, and transmit beamforming focuses energy toward each associated client rather than radiating evenly in all directions.

Band steering pushes dual-band clients to 5 GHz, airtime fairness stops slow legacy clients monopolising the channel, and load balancing by client count or RSSI threshold spreads sessions across neighbouring APs. Omada Mesh links APs wirelessly where cabling is impractical.
