The EAP650 is Omada's compact AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 ceiling access point: 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz, 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, HE160 channel width and a Gigabit PoE+ uplink, in a 160 mm chassis only 33.6 mm deep. A power adapter ships in the box, so it can be installed with or without a PoE switch port.

AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 in a Compact Ceiling Housing

The EAP650 serves up to 2402 Mbps on 5 GHz and 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz through 2x2 internal antennas on each band. At 160 x 160 x 33.6 mm it is among the smallest access points in the Omada ceiling range, which matters in corridors, small meeting rooms, hotel floors and heritage ceilings where a 243 mm disc would be intrusive. Junction-box mounting is supported alongside the included ceiling and wall kits.

Gigabit PoE+ Uplink, Power Adapter Included

The uplink is a standard Gigabit RJ-45 port taking 802.3at PoE, so the EAP650 drops straight into the cabling and switching most Singapore sites already have — no multi-gigabit switch required. Maximum draw is 13.5 W on the EU model and 14.7 W on the US model. A power adapter is supplied in the box (12V/1.0A EU, 12V/1.5A US), which makes this the easy option where the nearest switch has no PoE budget left.

HE160 and OFDMA Do the Real Work

HE160 gives the EAP650 160 MHz channel width on 5 GHz where the spectrum allows, doubling channel width against a standard 80 MHz plan. OFDMA is the complementary Wi-Fi 6 feature and matters more day to day: it divides each channel into resource units so the AP serves many small client transmissions together instead of queueing them. 1024-QAM, the 4x longer OFDM symbol, MU-MIMO, band steering, load balancing, airtime fairness and beamforming complete the set.

Omada Mesh and Seamless Roaming

Omada Mesh lets an EAP650 join the network over the air where a cable run is impractical — across a courtyard, into an annexe, or in a temporary fit-out. Seamless roaming, available once the AP is adopted into a controller, hands clients between access points without dropping voice or video calls. Up to 16 SSIDs are available, eight per band, for separating corporate, guest, IoT and voice traffic on the same hardware.

Multi-Site, L3 and Zero-Touch Management Under Omada SDN

Adopted into an Omada Cloud-Based Controller, OC300, OC200 or the Omada Software Controller, the EAP650 supports multi-site management, L3 management, a management VLAN and Zero-Touch Provisioning, so a unit can be shipped to a branch and brought up remotely with no engineer visit. WPA3-Personal and Enterprise, 802.1X, captive portal, SSID-to-VLAN mapping, MAC filtering, client isolation and rogue AP detection cover the security side, and cloud access carries no licence fee.
