The EAP225 is Omada's mainstream AC1350 ceiling access point: 867 Mbps on 5 GHz and 450 Mbps on 2.4 GHz from three internal antennas, one Gigabit port, and a 24V passive PoE adapter supplied in the box. Rated to 60 °C, it is a straightforward, self-contained coverage point for offices, shops, clinics and cafés running under Omada SDN.

AC1350 with Three Antennas and MU-MIMO

Three internal omnidirectional antennas — 4 dBi on 2.4 GHz and 5 dBi on 5 GHz — give the EAP225 up to 867 Mbps on 5 GHz and 450 Mbps on 2.4 GHz, with the three-stream 2.4 GHz radio being unusual at this price. MU-MIMO transmits to several clients at once, and beamforming, band steering and airtime fairness work together to keep a mixed estate of modern phones and older devices sharing the airtime sensibly.

Complete in the Box with a Passive PoE Adapter

The single Gigabit RJ-45 port accepts 802.3af PoE or 24V passive PoE, and TP-Link supplies the passive PoE adapter, power cord and ceiling and wall mounting kits. That makes the EAP225 deployable in a site with no PoE switching — a shop unit, a clinic, a small office — without specifying anything else. Maximum draw is 10.5 W on the EU model, and a physical security lock point is provided.

Rated to 60 °C Operating Temperature

TP-Link specifies an operating range of 0 °C to 60 °C for the EAP225, which is wider than most indoor ceiling access points in the Omada range. That headroom matters for ceiling voids above shopfronts, plant rooms, warehouse mezzanines and other enclosed spaces in Singapore where ambient temperature above a false ceiling routinely exceeds comfortable office conditions.

16 SSIDs, Captive Portal and Rogue AP Detection

Up to 16 SSIDs (eight per band) can each be mapped to their own VLAN, keeping guest Wi-Fi, staff access, POS terminals and IoT devices separated from one unit. Captive portal authentication handles visitor onboarding, wireless isolation stops clients reaching each other, and MAC address filtering, 802.1X and rogue AP detection complete the set. Rate limiting and wireless schedules control what the public network can consume and when.

Managed Centrally Under Omada SDN

The EAP225 is adopted into an OC300, OC200 or the Omada Software Controller; the Omada Cloud-Based Controller and zero-touch provisioning are supported on hardware versions V3.0, V4.0 and above, but not on V3.20 — worth confirming the revision when mixing new and existing stock. L3 management, multi-site management, email alerts, SNMP v1/v2c, syslog, SSH and HTTPS web management are all supported.
