TP-Link Omada AC1200 MU-MIMO Gigabit Indoor/Outdoor Access Point
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
TP-Link Omada AC1200 Wireless MU-MIMO Gigabit Indoor/Outdoor Access Point (EAP225-Outdoor) - 5 Years Local Warranty
The EAP225-Outdoor is Omada's AC1200 dual-band access point in an IP65 weatherproof housing, rated from -30 °C to 70 °C and supplied with pole and wall mounting kits plus a 24V passive PoE adapter. It is the practical choice for covering car parks, courtyards, covered walkways, worksites and outdoor F&B seating from an existing Omada network.
IP65 Weatherproofing Rated Well Beyond Singapore Conditions
The enclosure carries an IP65 rating against dust and water jets, and TP-Link specifies an operating range of -30 °C to 70 °C — comfortably beyond anything a Singapore rooftop, loading bay or poolside will present. Pole and wall mounting kits are included in the box, so the unit can be strapped to a lamp column or fixed to a facade without buying a separate bracket. At 215 x 46 x 27 mm it is slim enough to sit unobtrusively on a wall.
AC1200 Dual-Band with MU-MIMO and Airtime Fairness
Two 3 dBi antennas on 2.4 GHz and two 4 dBi antennas on 5 GHz drive up to 867 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 300 Mbps on 2.4 GHz. MU-MIMO serves multiple clients simultaneously, and airtime fairness stops a single slow legacy device from monopolising the radio — which matters outdoors, where clients are often at the edge of range and negotiating low data rates. Omada rates the unit for 220+ concurrent clients.
Powered Over 802.3af or the Included Passive PoE Adapter
The single Gigabit RJ-45 port accepts both 802.3af PoE and 24V passive PoE, and a passive PoE adapter is supplied in the box. That means the access point can be deployed either from an existing PoE switch or from a mains outlet at the near end of the cable run, which is useful when the outdoor unit sits well away from the comms room. Maximum consumption is 10.5 W.
Captive Portal, VLAN Segmentation and Rogue AP Detection
Up to 16 SSIDs (eight per band) can be mapped to separate VLANs, so a public outdoor guest network is kept clear of operational traffic such as car park barriers or outdoor cameras. Captive portal authentication onboards visitors, wireless isolation prevents client-to-client access, and MAC address filtering, 802.1X and rogue AP detection complete the security picture. Rate limiting keeps the public SSID from consuming the site's bandwidth.
Seamless Roaming Between Indoor and Outdoor Coverage
Adopted into an Omada Cloud-Based Controller, OC300, OC200 or the Omada Software Controller, the EAP225-Outdoor becomes part of the same wireless network as the indoor ceiling and wall units — same SSIDs, same policies, same portal — so staff and guests move from inside to the courtyard without reconnecting. Zero-touch provisioning through the Cloud-Based Controller, L3 and multi-site management, email alerts, SNMP v1/v2c, syslog and SSH are supported.
Ideal For
Car parks, condominium grounds, school fields, worksites, outdoor dining areas and covered walkways in Singapore that need dual-band coverage tied into an existing Omada network. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Frequently Asked Questions — EAP225-Outdoor
Is a PoE injector included?
Yes. TP-Link supplies a 24V passive PoE adapter in the box, along with pole and wall mounting kits. The unit will also run from an 802.3af PoE switch port if you prefer to power it from the comms room.
Can it be used indoors?
Yes — TP-Link markets it as an indoor/outdoor access point. The IP65 housing and -30 °C to 70 °C rating simply mean it also survives exposed positions such as rooftops, car parks and loading bays.
Does it need an Omada Controller?
No. The EAP225-Outdoor runs standalone through its own web interface. Adopting it into an Omada Software, Hardware or Cloud-Based Controller is what unlocks central configuration, monitoring, firmware management and cloud/app access across every Omada device on site — at no licence cost.
What warranty does SourceIT provide?
Five years local Singapore warranty, per TP-Link's Omada Series replacement warranty policy. Every EAP225-Outdoor sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.
Can SourceIT quote this for a project or tender?
Yes. Send the bill of materials and we will quote the whole Omada build — controller, gateway, switching, access points and optics — with local warranty and support.
