PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

TP-Link 8-Port Gigabit Desktop/Rackmount Switch with 8-Port PoE+ (TL-SG1008MP) - 5 Years Local Warranty

The TL-SG1008MP puts PoE+ on every one of its eight Gigabit ports and backs them with a 153 W budget — the highest per-port allowance in TP-Link's eight-port unmanaged range. Internal mains power means no external brick, and the chassis mounts on a desk or in a 19-inch rack. It is unmanaged: cable it, power it, and it works.

All Eight Ports Deliver 802.3at PoE+

Every port is 802.3af and 802.3at compliant, so there is no planning around which sockets can power a device — any port will. With 153 W to share, all eight ports can run typical 802.3af cameras and access points simultaneously with headroom left, or a smaller number of 30 W 802.3at devices at full draw. For an eight-port switch this is a generous budget; the sibling TL-SG1008P offers PoE on four of its eight ports with a 64 W budget.

Internal Power Supply, No Adapter to Lose

The switch takes 100-240 VAC directly through a power cord rather than an external DC adapter. In practice that removes the single most common failure and inventory headache in small PoE deployments — the missing or mismatched power brick — and it keeps the installation tidy in a rack or wall cabinet. Maximum consumption is 173.65 W with a full 153 W load connected and 8.57 W with nothing powered.

16 Gbps Fabric With 16 KB Jumbo Frames

The 16 Gbps switching capacity covers all eight Gigabit ports at full duplex, and an 11.904 Mpps forwarding rate sustains line rate at small frame sizes. A 4K MAC address table and 1.5 Mbit buffer suit an access-layer switch sitting behind a handful of APs or cameras, while 16 KB jumbo frame support helps continuous NVR recording and backup traffic. Store-and-forward switching with 802.3x flow control and a priority function runs automatically.

Desktop or Rack, With Everything Included

At 294 x 180 x 44 mm the TL-SG1008MP is a 1U-height chassis supplied with both a rackmount kit and rubber feet, so the same unit serves a comms cabinet or a shelf. A single fan handles the thermal load of the PoE supply, and the switch is rated to 50 degrees Celsius — worth noting for warm, unventilated riser cupboards where fanless desktop units rated to 40 degrees are marginal.

Ideal For

Singapore offices, shops, clinics and small sites powering up to eight cameras, access points or VoIP phones from a single unit, with or without a rack. Supplied by SourceIT with local Singapore warranty, GST invoice and project pricing on request.

Frequently Asked Questions — TL-SG1008MP

How is this different from the TL-SG1008P?

Both are eight-port Gigabit unmanaged switches. The TL-SG1008MP powers all eight ports from a 153 W budget with an internal mains supply; the TL-SG1008P powers four of its eight ports from a 64 W budget using an external adapter. Choose the MP when more than four devices need power.

Can it be adopted into an Omada Controller?

No. It is unmanaged and will not appear in a controller, though it powers and connects Omada access points normally. Ask us about the JetStream smart and managed ranges if the switch itself needs to be managed.

Does it come with rack ears?

Yes. A rackmount kit and rubber feet are both in the box, so the same unit can be racked or used on a desk.

What warranty does SourceIT provide?

Five years local Singapore warranty, in line with TP-Link's replacement warranty policy for unmanaged PoE switches. Every unit sold by SourceIT comes with a GST invoice.

Can SourceIT quote this for a project or tender?

Yes. Send the bill of materials and we will quote the whole build — switching, access points, cameras and optics — with local warranty and support.
